Has anyone used a OTTOCAST CarPlay Wireless Adapter for iPhone? I've seen the Carlinkit 3.0 reviews are not that positive and this devise is newer, but haven't seen a review of it being used with a Mav.

I have been waiting for my OTTOCAST for a long time. I was supposed to get it in December. Then before the end of January. And now the end of February. I will write a review for it, if ever I actually get it. I have written a review for the Motorola MA1, which I ordered over a month after the OTTOCAST.

I actually ordered one from Amazon and got it in 1 day. I hooked it up and it seems to be working pretty good.<

if it connects through bluetooth im assuming the audio quality will be lower than wired or is the throughput comparable?

The one on Amazon is for CarPlay only (or attempts to create a native Android 9.0 experience on your screen). I have been waiting for months for the Ottocast that turns a wired Android Auto experience into Wireless. Which I purchased directly from Ottocast in early December. But they keep producing far less units per month than they are taking orders from. I don't even need it now.

Are you using the Ottocast in the Lariat or XL/XLT?
In a 1st Edition Lariat. I've just noticed that the FordPass app is not showing up or does it track my Journeys when on wireless Ottocast. It may not have anything to do with it though, since it worked spotty before the hookup as well.

These things all seem massively overpriced.

They plug into the USB port that you would use to wire your phone to use CarPlay. Then it uses bluetooth to connect to your phone.

I was under the impression that they only used bluetooth to do the initial configuration. After that, it uses WiFi.

this is what worries me. if its using bluetooth for audio then the quality would be worse than wired in.
