So, I am frugal. How do you get your Mav "into electric mode" other than laying off the pedal?
Sir I beg to differ, you are driving a new vehicle, Lariat no less. Frugal you are not, but I'd say likely reasonable and practical. I'd give you frugal if you had an XL, haha.

I was thinking about this while driving last night. You're not gonna be able to outsmart this thing. Just take off and drive smooth and consistent and let the car figure out the rest. Keep shit off the roof too.

YES, I cut my petrol bill in half, NO I'm not "saving" a dime by driving a new car. I've been wrenching on cheap old used cars for 20 years. No more of that frugal shit... :)

It's the first brand new vehicle I bought in 28 years.

I bought a Maverick. Not an F150. Kids are graduated from college. I splurged. $32K. Average vehicle cost is now $45K.

Bro, I can save money like an MF'er. I drive a mile to save 5 cents on a gallon.

However, it's all relative, so I get what you are saying.

These are all from dead stop to 15 mph in a lot, but overall, nothing you probably don’t already know… ECO mode & the ‘coach’ has my foot so light on the pedal… I tend to hit the gas to 5 mph over where I want to be, coast and resume lightly, electric can maintain my speed more often than not.

Try it in slippery mode.

I'm saying no to Eco Mode as a normal thing, unless I'm actually in bad traffic. It will be Normal mode for me unless conditions warrant a custom drive mode. Sport mode in aggressive traffic or merging. Eco in bad traffic. Slippery when wet (Bon Jovi). Tow/haul when exceeding half capacity (door jam says 1500 lbs.). So that like 95% Normal mode.

Yes on the coach but you don't think using Eco mode perpetually is gonna wear out that HVB prematurely? Hmmmm. I paid for a gas and electric motor, I want them both to share the load. I'm convinced that it's futile to try to outsmart this thing. Beyond that, I agree with your driving approach, hehe.

3.0 n00b here, but 90 something since 6/4/09. See ya at YEMSG!
45 since 5/12/92. Looking fwd to #46-48 at MSG in July. 🐠✌❤
My buddies Ryan and Jessica Henry are crazy into phish, they make custom concert posters and stuff. I never listened to em much but being from Ohio I was always big into Ekoostik Hookah, went to a ton of shows from 2000 to 2015. Pretty sure thats where I lost my mind, I had it on a frisbee that disappeared into the crowd one glorious day.

I have found keeping the power % under the first tick keeps it in electric mode until the battery needs charging. If you even whisper over that first tick the motor kicks on. Good for up to about 32MPH in my experience. Verrry slow acceleration.
