Lithia Ford of Boise just came to my house with their mobile service van and did my full synthetic oil change and the trailer module recall software update - $115. Same price as taking it in to the dealer.
The only negative is they give you a 4-hour service window but the guy came within the first 2 hours.
Not bad...

Thank you for confirming that trailer update recall is available for the pre-25MY's.

Still a few posts claiming it's not available yet for some reason.

Ya - that 4 hr window, just in case.
I don't know - like maybe the oil filter is way over-torqued and creates a headache getting it off!
Not sure who would do that!

I got a service ride from the mobile manager one time when their normal drivers were out.
We talked about the difficulty of even normal simple things, I was curious what types of work they would attempt.
He mentioned no flat areas. Yeah - it's Kansas here, but this is the non-flatter side.
He said they may show up for work that needs some aspect of level (brakes, oil, tranny) - and there is nothing but dangerous inclines available they won't even attempt, then they have to hassle with driving vehicle to a nearby dealership they have agreements with, just to use a flat lot - but need another driver now. He said easy to hit a surprise hour of vehicle/driver moving around.

I used a local dealer's mobile service for the first time for the trailer light recall. Scheduling was a snap and it took all of 20 minutes. Much better than taking it in unless you have a craving for waiting room coffee.
On second thought: I really should point out and thank the dealer who did this service for me. Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park, CA.

I always schedule my services for a drop off appointment. Drop it the night before, pick it up the following night. Although I have a back up ride, during the summer anyways. My 2024 had the trailer module reprogramming done as well. I had no issues however with a Uhaul trailer before the recall was completed. Good piece of information tho, Uhaul trailer had a LED light going out and as soon as we hooked up the dashboard cluster knew it and told me to check the right taillight. I thought that was nice because if you tow by yourself how would you know something was out? 🤷‍♂️ ...of course most would do their best to check before heading out but what if it went bad on the road? Smart little trucks these are!

One of my local Ford Dealerships (claims to be largest Ford dealer in the nation) has a TV ad stating that they have 30+ on-site service trucks. I'm wondering how they change the oil filter and take off the oil cover without lifting the vehicle. I’d never do a change without new filter.

I'm not that desperate.... especially since my first oil change at my huge dealership put the oil cover back on cock-eyed and stripped 2 bolts. Didn't know it until the next oil change.

I now use the quick-lube places. 20 min oil change with excellent service.
If you won't laugh, name of the chain is "Grease Monkey".

I bought my maverick at Lithia Boise and have had it serviced there too. Haven't had any updates done yet.

I just scheduled my recall for the trailer module the other day. My local dealer is 1 month out. No mobile service either. So I got that going for me. I do my own oil changes and I agree, change the oil; change the filter.
