Hey guys,

About a month ago I purchased a ProClip Angled Dash Mount (Angled Dash Mount for Ford Maverick | ProClip USA) for my '22 Maverick. As you can see from the photo in the link, it uses one of the screws on your panel for attachment. It was easy enough to attach, but it kept coming lose. We did have a hot July here in Utah, and this could've caused an issue with the padded tape/adhesive on the portion of the mount that fits into the edge of the cubby. At any rate, I got sick of having to keep reattaching/tighting this mount!

I was doing some research, and found one made by OFFROAM ( Ford Maverick 2022-2024 Phone Mount ). It looks like a good mount, but at $80.00, it's a little pricey! I was wondering if anyone is using this particular mount and how you like it?

Thanks in advance!

That's actually a pretty nifty design. I like how it's made out of aluminum. According to the install instructions, it clamps to the lip of the cubby and you can position it anywhere on the lip.

I've had ProClip, Panavise, Ram and a few other mounts in various vehicles over the years. The ProClips are easy to install and mostly solid but I've had a couple that allowed my phone to vibrate which was annoying. I can't stand flimsy phone mounts (looking at you clip-on vent mounts).

I purchased a Bullet Point Mount for my Maverick over a year ago and haven't used it yet. I have my Scangauge III attached to a home brewed mount in the cubby which I made when there wasn't anything available for our Mavericks yet.

There are tons of options like that. I used a RAM mount I've had for years and it's pretty universal as I've had it in 4 different vehicles in different locations. Curretly:

Don't overpay for those specific cheap knock offs. Get something you can use over and over again and with different attachments.

I use this Amazon.com $22 adhesive mount for mag-safe magnetic phone cases. I live in SoCal and summer temps never bothered the adhesive.

I didn’t like the position because I can’t turn on my camera and film what is in front of me. So I pulled it off of the dash and repositioned it a few times. The adhesive kept working, just like it was new. Now it has been in its new position all summer long and hasn’t come unstuck and I can use my phone like a dash cam.

I went with the BulletPoint Mount. I had the ProClip one as well and it was terrible. Bullet point is pricey but gives you options and flexibility.

Thanks for the information! I'll check out the Panovice and Ram mounts. You current set up looks good!

I agree, nothing worse than a flimsy phone mount!

Yeah, $80.00 seemed a bit steep!

Just so I'm clear, your current mount is a Ram? It has a nice clean look! I like it!

It's a home made mount. Basically I used a camera mount for a tripod and attached it to the top of the cubby opening.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BKQJDCP5

I pulled the top cubby off, removed the screen and the side cubby. Then I drilled a hole in the top of the side cubby and used a large screw and washer to attach the tripod mount to the top of the side cubby.

It was like $12 haha

This post has a little more detail.

The arm and the dash mount are, and the magnet thing I use is compatible with 1" attachments. So instead of spending $80 for a single vehicle mount, I spent a little less than that across universal stuff. The 2nd one you linked is sort of in the right direction, but still very Maverick specific and kind of a rip off.

Also, I want to be clear that I mounted mine inside the cubby hole and that magnet mount + my heavy phone means it's screwed in. I drilled to accomplish this and removed the SYNC setup in the process. So if you don't want to do that, then the location you chose for a mount is great, but I'd still look for something that uses that spot then transitions into a universal setup like the 1" ball attachments. Otherwise I wouldn't spend more than $20-30 for that Maverick specific mount, so the 1st one you linked isn't a bad option.

Just my two cents. Universal is the way to go here. But the same thing I have can be achieved without screwing into things as there are many options. One place that comes to mind for products like that would be Etsy if you haven't looked there. Scosche also makes a lot of reliable universal mounts too.

Here is what I have specifically:
Magnet mount
RAM 1" ball mount
Ram Medium Arm
And that magnet is strong enough to keep the phone in place on all the trails I've been on... even on the "whoopsies" when I'm going faster than I should be into that giant pothole followed by washboards and rocks.

And I'm sure there are cheaper brands now too. I think overall cost for my stuff was around $40-50 when I got it years ago.

One option I like but it uses brand specific accessories so I'd never buy it, is the Bulletpoint RubiGrid. If they sold the dash cubby base mount alone I would have used it to mount instead, bringing the phone closer to me. They do use AMPS Compatible dimensions for mounts so I'm not sure why they don't offer the bases alone.

I like what you did there! Great idea to mount it like a dash cam! Hey for $22.00 you did great!

Maybe I'll go the route you did.

Thank you so much for the information and links!

Yeah, I'm not opposed to using the cubby area for the mount, and I can see the wisdom in going universal. I'm going to see what I can find on Etsy, and will also check out Scosche, and Bulletpoint.

Thank you again for all the great information, ideas, and links!

Have you had any issues with your PoroClip coming lose at all? We've had some hot days here in Utah, and I think the adhesive/padded tape that they put around the edges of the mount, that attach inside the edge of the cubby moved, which in turn caused the unit to come lose.

I really like the PC, but was getting tired of having to reposition and tighten it every few days.

No, not at all. I have 3 different vehicles with a proclip holder now, and had them in 3 previous vehicles as well. Hold the phone snugly in place, depending on the phone you have the holder is adjustable and tightens with 2 Phillips screws.

It's not the cheapest option for sure, they do have sales often though. But I believe it to be one of the better phone mounts, with many vehicle options available.
