I have had multiple issues with suspension "noise" on my truck. sounds like uncontrolled wheel movement (like a blown strut assy) when hitting certain bumps. the first trip to the dealer couldn't replicate it. 2 months later, on a second trip, they replaced the rf stab link. this seemed to fix the issue. then several months later, the noise returned. first trip, dealer couldn't replicate. next trip i took someone from service on a road test where they agreed there is a noise that was later identified as a bad rf strut. dealer replaced rf strut and struf mount and the noise went 50% away, but not totally. now it's at the dealer again while i wat for them to diagnose the remaining noise. am I just the lucky owner of an early build issue truck? I'm really hoping the lifespan of these parts isn't 35,000 miles. planning on grabbing an extended warranty now...

anyone else having suspension parts failing on unmodified trucks?

I’m only on 10,000 miles with no issues. Just curious if this affects steering or anything else?
By this time the techs should have it figured out. Worst case they determine a “noise” isn’t a “fault.”
If it makes the truck uncomfortable then Ford needs to step up here and make it right.

It doesn’t seem to affect the steering. Latest from the dealer is the chassis ears are still indicating the noise is coming from the rf corner. Same corner which has previously had a stab link, strut, and strut bearing replaced. They’re trying to isolate the noise. They have tried removing the stab links and test drove. Still noisy. Removed the sway bar and test drove. Still noisy. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The “bright side” I guess is, I have a bronco sport loaner. I can confirm the center screen (sync 3) is more crisp than my XLT and the b&o stereo is noticeably fuller. No BIG bass, but definitely has more low frequency extension.

I have almost 33K miles on my 22 and I've noticed some strange noises when I go to back into my parking spot at work. I'll come to a complete stop, pop it in reverse and turn the wheel while backing up. Sometimes it makes a click/popping noise while turning. It hasn't gotten to the point where I would take it to the dealer. If it gets worse I'll take the trip.

I did have my wheels off for a rotation last week and I noticed what looks to be a leaky rear strut. I've never sprayed fluid under the truck so not sure what else this could be.

Take it in while it’s under warranty!

At about 5k we had rattles over bumps. Replaced LF strut, seems to have gone away.

I heard this noise starting at 37000 miles. The dealer thinks it's the front stab bar link, and no, at 37000 miles it's not going to be covered by warranty or good will. I'd let him replace it for $200 if he wasn't an untrustworthy Ahole, so I'll probably do it myself.

to close this thread out, the mystery noise turned out to be the washer fluid bottle. all the dealer said was there was "something with the way the bottle was mounted at the factory". the paperwork shows replacement of the washer fluid bottle and another stab link.

iirc, rock auto sells the stab links for like $25. if i ever have to replace mine out of warranty, i'll buy aftermarket ones with zerks on them so i can grease them.
