I had it done today at dealer, was told I had to deal with it here on MTC. Well, it worked, and the little Mav is peppier too! Not in any other ‘mode’ but normal, haven’t tried tow/haul, slippery, sand or mud/ruts but it doesn’t ‘lug’ around 1500 rpm or under. Happier now. Still walked around lot looking at the Raptor Rangers! Hmmm…

Excellent! I know this has been bothering you, and it would have me as well. My wife daily drives our Mav and I told her not to "pussyfoot it" (she likes when I talk dirty :p) when we got it new, hoping that it would learn that strategy. We both drive it like a sports car most of the time, and so far (5K miles) it hasn't shown behavior at all like you've described yours. I hope it works for you.

Thank-you for your kind words. Maybe that was my problem, I babied it until ‘broken in’. But now I’m gonna drive it like a 2.0 litre turbo should be driven.

My 2024 Lariat also lugs a little just before it decides it better downshift.. lol. I use ECO 99.99% of the time as I did on my 20 Escape. Just under 2000 on my new Mav... Just made appointment for 1st oil change for just before I drive south (SC) for Christmas. Will be close to a 2000 mile round trip. Seems on this MAV that 8th gear may be higher than the 8 speed that was in my Escape... Was on the interstate last night, cruse at 73, and the engine was just under 2000 rpms, which is lower than I remember on the Escape. Best mileage I have had so far is upper 28's, but still breaking in the motor.

I have a 2024 XLT with 2.0 Ecoboost, just turned 5,000 miles. I took the truck in to the dealer for service and told them it lugged at low rpm around 25-30 mph, shifted into high gear too soon and had to really step on the gas to get it to downshift. They drove it, and a couple similar trucks and said they were all the same, that it was normal. Anyway, doesn't feel normal to me. Is there a learning process I should put this through to solve the problem? If not how did others resolve it at their dealer (is there something I should tell my dealer). This is the only disappointment I have with this truck (and the fact that there is no way to manually shift the auto transmission).

You can clear the adaptive learning with Forscan.
