There have been several posts about the 8 speed transmission lugging or other undesirable behavior. Posting some service bulletins and resources that may be useful.
The recalls are from other models using the same transmission. Generally the issues were likely solved, but may resurface in isolated incidents.
The fix seems to be a fairly easy reprogram/reset of the PCM. Posts report this reset successfully addressed the issue.

An adaptive transmission learns driving behavior. In my experience it may start acting up in situations such as
  • A new/different driver
  • changing tire size. Either upsizing or downsizing
  • Towing or hauling near max capacity for an extended distance
  • Change in terrain such as mountains, hills, flat land.
Selecting the appropriate driving mode may minimize the transmission learning an undesirable shift pattern, but may not eliminate it. If the learned behavior is bothersome, have the PCM reset. Otherwise is should correct itself eventually.

Resetting the learning and using the appropriate drive mode are definitely good suggestions.

And I know that a tune isn't for everyone, but I just wanted to remind everyone that the very best thing you can do to make the 8F35 behave better is to tune it.

... and there's a Black Friday sale on the Cobb Tuning accessport. you can get it on sale directly from Cobb, or you can buy it from one of many Cobb Pro Tuners who might have their own bundles such as a custom map.

You can actually run a stock engine tune with one of the 2 Cobb off the shelf transmission maps. (plus and sport.) This is very useful for anyone who just wants to use 87 octane and dramatically improve their transmission behavior.

Of course, most people using a tune will use 91+ and use the ECU maps to get more torque and horsepower. but many people probably don't realize you do have an option to tune only the transmission and keep running 87.

How does one do a reprogram?
The options seem to be have an auto tech (dealer or independent shop) with the necessary equipment do the reprogram or get a tuner like the one Colin suggests in the previous post.
