No More Black Wheels

I guess I am old school but Black wheels never look good going more than 2 MPH. They just turn in to a black hole. The silver (or chrome) show a pattern of movement at all speeds and in my opinion look better always especially moving. Personally the 2024 Lariat silver and black wheels are what I got my wife best of both worlds.....Peace

I have a love/hate relationship with black wheels. With almost any exterior color other than white I can't stand them, and then on all of my white cars I end up getting black wheels for a Stormtrooper or Panda look.

I love the look of black wheels, especially on the Maverick because they go so well with all the black trim on the truck. They look great in certain lighting but they are hard to see the wheel details and are a nightmare to photograph.

So I decided to swap out my gloss black Asanti ABL-27’s for a set of silver Rotiform SGN’s.
(and I finally tinted my windows)

What do you think? Silver or Black?

I never have understood the appeal of black wheels. Looks like they’ve got brake dust all over them.

I will probably catch some chit for this, but Black wheels disappear when looking at a vehicle (unless you are very close to it). I personally never cared for black wheels (my wife has them on her Cadillac). I'm old school and love Chrome, but those are getting harder to find. I do have a set of Bronze 18" wheels & Tires that were on my 23 AWD available in Phoenix.

nah, several of us have said that in several ways. but clearly, people do like black wheels anyway.

The reason the industry went to black wheels was to hide the brake dust.
My favorite wheel design was the "wire basket" look with a silver/polished rim, only with the inner part of the wheel black or very dark gray, not like the picture.
These were popular in the 80's mostly on German cars.
