Hello - any updates on your issue? I live in Huntington Beach and picked up my XLT Hybrid just over 1 month ago. So far, I've had 3-4 deep sleeps and 2 completely dead batteries. Both times involved me driving long distances, coming home, unloading while the truck was still running (key in ignition) for 10-15 minutes, shutting down and heading inside. Wake up the following morning - dead battery.

I just got back from the dealership in Irvine who replaced my 12V battery and told me I had a bad cell and a few updates in need of doing. I thought I was in the clear, I woke up this morning to go to work and noticed my screen didn't come on...no big deal. I get to work and open my Ford Pass to see that just about an hour before I drove it this morning (around 6 am) I got another Deep Sleep notification. This time, perhaps because I "caught it in time" and drove it close afterwards, it started up just fine.

But why and how? I'm getting nervous that this is issue runs deeper. How have you been doing the past 3-4 months since this last post?
Hello mhw21zap. I have a 2020 Escape HEV that has a similar problem to yours. I'm searching for any information I can gather as mine has now been at the dealer for over 3 months. I constantly got the Deep Sleep notification and religiously watched the Escape forums for a solution. Just doesn't appear there is any real fix, other than some having success with changing to an AGM battery, but I'm not planning on doing that while the vehicle is under warranty. Supposedly the AGM is not the recommended battery for my Escape, wouldn't want to void the warranty. With my vehicle they first told me my battery was fine, then after getting the DSM the day I picked it up after service, they took it back and kept it a week and ended up replacing the so called "good" 12v battery. Vehicle was fine for 10 days and then it went totally dead, like a voltage reading of 5 volts at the battery. Recharged it, dead the next day. Took back to dealer in mid-March, haven't seen it yet. Still sitting there dead, Ford Tech Support has no solution. I've just started the buy back/lemon law process but would rather they just find a fix. Good luck!
