Even my wife was impressed and she’s not into this stuff at all
I will say my tonneau cover does seal better with the Ford SIBL than the aftermarket installation that goes to the back window. If not going with a tonneau cover get that under window area lined too. That does look better fully covered, in my opinion.
this brings up a good point. I didn’t think about how far up and over they would go and I have a tonneau cover coming on Saturday! Gonna have to figure this one out…

What cargo is going to rest on and damage the area below the rear window? Same with tailgate, touchpoints are coated with liner. Visually the truck looks better with painted area below the rear window anyway.
Well, this is actually why I just did SIBL (Line-X, last Wednesday). The area just below the window endured some sort of strike that happened before I bought the truck, and paint even chipped off. I wanted to be sure better protection for that spot. Also, I anticipate having metal chairs back there every once in a while. For those reasons, I looked forward most to that very area being covered.

I get, though, the thought about sealing for tonneau covers. Maybe it’d be more ideal to have just the vertical part covered, and the top (right next to the window) uncovered. Oh well.

Looking into getting a spray in liner myself here shortly, but the closest Rhino Liner to me is over an hours drive :O, still looking around, we have a Mil-Spec liner local, that use to do Line-X but there prices are pretty high ? For the bed I think I was quoted like $700, but that was for the premium UV version ? Seems a tad high lol.
