Anyone know if this is new, and associated with the Q1 fix Ford promised for the hybrid battery drain aka deep sleep issues?
Also why exclude MY24?
There's about 4 threads for it already. Only affects 22MY EcoBoosts.

Yeah I realized that right after I posted. Been trying to figure out how to delete a new thread since I agree this is redundant

Battery quality sucks lately. I was recently out of town with my f-150 2023. 12k miles. Battery died. So dead not even power steering would work.

Charged it everything. Dealer said they needed it for a full 24hrs to make a warranty claim. I paid for a new one and now have to fight ford. It’s brand new and truck would not start and could be running for an hour turn off and nothing. Put in a new one and issues went away.
Can’t believe that they didn’t even make 20k and it’s dead.

I just got a new battery 3 weeks ago, would be happy to get an AGM battery installed instead of the same old battery that my 22 mav started with.

Came across this article today where they talk about 22-23 Mavs and Broncos being recalled for faulty batteries, fix being replacing with AGMs. Anyone know if this is new, and associated with the Q1 fix Ford promised for the hybrid battery drain aka deep sleep issues?

Had the battery replaced on my hybrid a month ago under warranty at the dealer, under the complaint I was heading into the holiday season and did not want to get stranded. This was after I called roadside assistance out to my house to get it jumped off because I was face in my garage. They replaced it with an AGM battery that's supposed to be upgraded for no charge.

But, I did go get an electronic jump start from Costco the same day just in case that I store under the seat, and check the charge every couple months.

I had my 2022 hybrid mav in for it's last oil change using points before my 3 years are up. March 9th will be 3 years old. Since my mav spends a lot of time in deep sleep mode, I asked to be sure of the condition of the battery because of the recall. after the checking out of the battery, I was told it doesn't need replacement so no new battery for me. Even though my truck stays several days without being driven, I never had a problem with it starting it.

Mine also was in deep sleep mode all the time, then it didn't start, got it jumped, went to dealer they gave me a new battery...this was 3 weeks ago, not sure it was an AGM battery though.I don't drive much either. 6 months left on my warranty. Hopefully if it isn't an AGM battery, they will exchange it.

If you are part of the recall group then they will give you a new battery this is a recall not a warranty issue.

That's what I though, I'm in that group, but they said my original battery was within limits, so a new one would cost me. I will fight it if I have problems later.

See, the recall is very specific and it says you will get another battery because there’s no way for them to test if the internals of the old battery are about to go kaboom. If the dealer gives you shit go to another dealer you could also call Ford and ask them to start a case not sure if that will make a difference or not but you should absolutely get the correct authorized battery replacement.
