Okay , this way a short 5 mile trip with ideal conditions. ( just filled at a Wawa prior to the trip home) . My conditions were 47degrees outside, very little elevation changes and little traffic and a constant speed of 40 mph.
What does this prove? Not much with the exception that the Maverick hybrid’s drivetrain responds pretty well with accelerator modulation. I was generally surprised at how often I could get electric driving for the majority of small trips.
My wife’s last gen RAV4 hybrid is similar but seems to instantly turn the engine on at the slightest pressure with the accelerator. The Maverick seems to have more leeway with the pedal. (My average electric only driving on my normal commute hovers between 25 to 30 percent)
Enjoy you weekend
