Hey all,

Picked up a 22 Lariat Hybrid, Shadow Black, a few days ago. Traded in my 2016 Nissan Frontier 4x4. I paid a little over MSRP, but I'm in SoCal and literally every dealer is about 5-10k over MSRP. Hell, even Toyota Corolla are selling for crazy money. They gave me more for my trade-in than I think it was worth. I was a few months out from needing a transmission rebuild on it anyway.

So I commute 150 miles a day, was inching close to 1300 a month on gas alone with the nissan. I've gotten over 40mpg on the first tank and seems to be tracking that way on the second tank of gas. I'm extatic.

I mostly use my truck to transport my bikes. I have a few. Kind of an enthusiast. I do MTB, road, Gravel.... you name it. So this truck is perfect for that. I also camp about once a month, and with the tonneau, I can still pack all my gear easily. I never really used the towing capability or 4x4 in the Nissan, so i don't miss it, and I miss being in a Ford.

I used to have an 89 Bronco II with a 5.0 swapped in, had a 90's Taurus SHO, and my last Ford was my old 2001 Ranger XLT. I'll post pics tomorrow. Spent all afternoon decorating for Halloween and I have some spicey potato water to catch up on.

You really need the hybrid with that commute. The Mav is a nice truck. In my younger days that would have been a 6 pack trip. Just kidding but in traffic how long does it take you to drive it.
Have fun and enjoy the Mav.

Takes about 1hr 10min in the morning without traffic. On the way home, about 1hr 30min

I'm hoping I can keep an average of greater than 38mpg.

We have a similar commute; I'm 130 daily round trip, also about 70 minutes in the morning and 90 coming home. I'm averaging 44 mpg since March. I expect that to decrease a bit over the winter...

My gas mileage was better in the cooler months, it’s getting better now that the high rarely reaches 90 any more.
