Need constant 12v volt power source -- to add lights to truck bed

I am adding lights in the truck bed of my 24 Maverick. I am having trouble finding a constant source of 12 V power preferably around the rear bumper. Can anyone help me out.

Hi Ron,

I am not aware of a constant 12v near the bumper.
Page 453 in the 2024 Ford Maverick Owner's Manual mentions the usual
12V connections near the tailgate. They are switched on with the vehicle.

I don't think it would be difficult to run a constant line from the Hybrid 12v to the bumper.
Cautious i'd be leaving any 12v source constant in the hybrid

Unless Ford changed something you have 12V on the left and right side of the bed back by the tailgate. You should also have a wiring component in your glovebox or under the back seat to install that wiring. There are a lot of places you can run that wiring. I do not have pics in front of me, but I am sure you will get a response tomorrow. Look for 2 little 2x2 plastic pieces in the back of the bed.

This owner put the on/off switch in the small plastic pieces. That is why you see a white circle there. I highly recommend you go to youtube to see how others installed bed lights.

Do you have the light on the panel at the left rear of the bed? If so, I tied mine in there. Turns on and off from the switch there or the cargo light switch in the cab.

Curious. Does this mean anyone can walk up and flip your cargo light on without the truck being on (or in ACC mode) ?

The answer for me is no, as I have a locking cap on my truck, but yes, I suppose someone could if there was open access to your bed.

assuming you lock the truck, no. it's disabled when the ignition is off and truck is locked.
