***UPDATE
Hi All, I wanted to thank everyone for their advice and also provide an update.
I was told the compressor failed and this caused the truck to stall with no AC. Ford was kind enough to hook me up with a rental. The truck just got fixed last week.
I ended up selling my truck back to the dealer for about $1,200 more than what I paid. I decided to take the deal. Gym and grocery store is biking distance...and that money will be used to go back to school.
Thanks again and if you ever have issues while under warranty...demand a rental if they do not offer one.

Hi Everyone, I am calling upon the forums for some wisdom.
I picked up a black ford maverick tremor last December and love this truck. It was my first ever new vehicle and I simply love to drive it. First ever power windows and locks!
At around 6,888 miles, I was pulling out of the grocery parking lot towards the main road, and I heard a screeching noise, then all of the sudden my truck stalled. I restarted immediately and tried to back out, back into the plaza instead of out onto the main street where I was initially headed. The truck stalled again, and luckily there was no one behind me and I was able to coast into a parking spot.
I was able to drive home with no more stalling, but now the AC only blows hot air. I was told I needed to take it to the dealership as to not void the warranty, so I waited 3 weeks for an open slot. I drove it sparingly in the meantime as I was worried about more stalling. No AC in PHX, AZ heat is also rather unpleasant.
The service center came to my house and picked up my truck which was nice. I warned the guy about the stalling. I was told a few days later that the compressor locked up and the part to fix it is on back order. They said they made an emergency order, and we are waiting for that to come in.
The dealership service center said they made a reservation for a rental in the meantime with enterprise, and it HAD to be a ford vehicle.
I uber to enterprise, and for some reason they don't have any fords (despite being told by dealership service center about a reservation waiting for me) and I was unable to get a rental. No local enterprise has fords on their lots for rent (I call daily) and surprisingly their systems do not allow them to see when a ford is due back in (which blew my mind).
Unfortunately, I do not have the extra cash to just pay out of pocket for a rental for an indefinite amount of time while my truck gets fixed.
I explained to the dealer service center that the rental company they utilize does not seem to have the approved vehicles for me to rent (FORD ONLY). I explained that I have been ubering around in the meantime for the last week, and no solution was offered other than to wait until enterprise gets a ford in. Again, enterprise systems do not allow them to see when a ford is due back in, so this requires a daily call (hellow yew, its me again!).
Here are my thoughts:
1. this is my first new vehicle, so I don't know if this is normal...but I was hoping to get a little further into the miles before an issue arose. I can deal with no AC, but the stalling issue doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies when driving around the family. Should I be worried that this issue (so soon) may be a sign of what to expect later down the road AFTER the warranty expires? I think I was one of the first to get my tremor..was it maybe rushed or something?
2. The wait time for repair is understandable, I get it. However, I am feeling pretty frustrated that the rental company the dealership designated for me to use doesn't even carry the vehicles I can rent under their policy. After explaining the situation, there was no other solution offered (EX: exception to go ahead and rent a more available vehicle instead).
3. while under warranty for a new vehicle, is it normal for a customer to be without transportation while the vehicle is getting fixed for an unknown amount of time? I feel like I am getting screwed, but I could be overreacting because this is new territory for me. Is this just part of the new car game and I need to get over it?
What would you do? Would maybe my insurance company cover a rental for this, even though there was no accident? Thanks for your valued insights!
