Need a Mav owner's help with a measurement!

Hi all. No Maverick for me yet, but hoping one of you can help with a measurement for me while I wait.

Looking to get the distance how far the tailgate hangs over the hitch face. Basically the red line I've drawn here parallel to the ground. Close approximate is good enough. Maybe mark the ground with the tailgate up (above hitch) and once again with it down.

In case you're wondering, trying to see what kind of extension it would take (if possible) to tow with the tailgate down.. cheers!

Pending your trailer (tongue) set-up, it may be possible with a std. receiver.

Curious why you want/need to tow with the TG down?

Waiting on a exact weight of the trailer that I've been interested in but something around ~2500lbs.

Also want to bring along a ~250lb bike in the back of the truck. Wheelbase is too long to close the tailgate when bike is diagonal :/

Curious why you want/need to tow with the TG down?

The critical measurement would be from the center of the ball to the diagonal distance to the corner of tailgate in order to clear tailgate while sharply turning!
