Don't hold your breath on them honoring the previous model years price. Everything is shooting up still in terms of cost, especially Aluminum and steel. Should've made that order sooner than later. They owe you nothing, the worlds a weird place still. Build sheet or not, they don't have to make it and give it to you.

I contacted the dealership handling my order. I ask about any possible hike in price and a 300 dollar lot fee was tacked on to the 21490 original offer. I can live with that caveat. It is the xl trim.

Sorry to hear this and other similar stories.

Ask the dealer if he has any stock orders coming in and give you first dibs on it and at MSRP or lower to make up for their mistake.

I believe Ford paid up for one of their Turbos and is facing another one soon due to 1.6 turbo that overheats and cracks the block. A class action represents numerous people harmed by doing or not doing something. One person has to have huge pockets to pay for a lawsuit against a multi international company with lawyers for their lawyers lawyers.
A design flaw and asking for reimbursement is one thing. Not selling you a truck isn't a damage.

I ordered my Maverick on 10/27 ahead of the November cut off date. 2 weeks ago I still had no confirmation from Ford on my order. So I did 2 things. I asked the dealer to follow up with Ford and get me a written confirmation of my build. I also have family in upper management at Ford HQ.

The family member got information that Fords system will not accept my order due to multiple components being on back order. I ordered the XTL Hybrid with the luxury package, 360 co-pilot, sunroof and sliding back window.

Ford has no answer for the system issue at this time. There are actually Ford employee's who have the same issue of no order confirmation.

Got a call from the dealer yesterday to inform me that cannot get me into the 2022 model year build due to the Ford System issue and the year now being sold out.

They offered me a MY 2023 expedited build date. Since, with all the delays I was not expecting to see my truck until summer of 2023 anyway I agreed to this MY 2023 build as long as they honored my MY 2022 build sheet price. Dealer says they will take the request up to Ford. Waiting in the news on what will be done there.

I suggest to all of you with an order and no confirmation to follow up with your dealer and see if you are going to get a MY 2022 build.

When I hear about if they will hold the pricing or not, I will revisit this post. If they will not hold the price, Ford and I are going to have a battle Since I have a valid build sheet in their system prior to their end of order deadline.....

Good luck to all of my fellow Maverick buyers.....
The family member is incorrect because I got CP360, sunroof, and sliding rear window - so the only possibly thing that could of been a constraint is the XLT Lux package.

Also - constraints don't stop orders from being placed. They stop orders from being picked up for production and scheduled to be built.

Also - your dealer cannot offer you an "expedited" MY23 build as we have seen how Ford's allocation model works. Your dealer is beholden to that model and then your specific vehicle build will be scheduled and fit into that model - not because your dealer asks them to speed it up.

You will not get your MY22 price guaranteed, especially because you don't have a MY22 order. Ford will 100% not honor this. If there is a MY23 increase you'll pay for it unless your dealership eats the cost.

Sounds like your dealership screwed you. Unless your family member is Mike Levine you aren't going to get any help. FWIW - one of my wife's best friends has a family member who "is upper management" and my Bronco is getting built before his....

It would fall under what is considered promisory estoppel and it is not easy to prove. Basically OP would have to demonstrate that as a result of the dealership "accepting and placing" the order that OP ended his vehicle search, and as a result of ending the vehicle search was financially harmed because they were under the belief they were going to receive a Mav in 2023.

It would get dismissed.

I would never drive or put a loved one in a car I received from a company I had decided to sue

just saying…

Three questions:
1. Did the dealer take a copy of your drivers license and submit it to Ford?
2. Did you pay a deposit and did dealer submit proof of deposit to Ford?
3. Did you sign the build sheet? And did dealer send signed copy to Ford?

My guess is dealer did not follow proper procedures and just making excuses.
There is no requirement for a deposit. You can place an order without one. AFAIK paying a deposit doesn't change anything other than locking in your final negotiated price.

Um, yeah. I know a lot about class action lawsuits. I also know a lot about civil liability. How have any of us been damaged by Ford's slow delivery of vehicles that we want but haven't bought? Did you get a guaranteed delivery date from Ford when you paid for your truck?
