I had a 68 fastback 4 spd. Lord wish I still had it. 69 & 70 fastbacks always been my favorites
Ive had a bunch of them, but that’s my keeper. Dad bought it new in 1966. He said there were 5 pages of options. He got the HiPo engine, deluxe interior, chrome delete and several other options. I run it in the 1/4 mile and auto Ross.

Does changing out all 6 speakers, undercarriage rust protection, adding kilmat, under carriage shield on the driver's side rear, making my own tonneau cover, and adding an air dam to the front, 4 inches of window tinting to the top of the windscreen, count?
I might have forgotten a few other modes I have done
Of course! the minute you remove the antenna, and install a stubby, your part of our community. We make things better!

I had that exact same color 66 Stang as my first car (wish i knew what i had when i had it) Havent done any big Mods on my Mav, just floor mats and bar for the bed but here is pic of my beloved 03 F150 grill. My Son gave it to me as a gift and he installed so not My DIY but still can get teary eyed when thinking about her being hauled off. We had a lot of adventures in those 20+ years i had her.

Truth be told, I've seen drivers of all ages and genders piloting their Mavericks around. I think the Maverick has so many pluses that it appeals to a wide range of folks. It might just be the MTC is mostly composed of those who want to tinker with their Maverick and also have no qualms about going online about it.
I agree. There was a guy driving down a main street near me. His was Atlas blue, mine is Area 51. I tried to get his attention but he was talking on his phone via carplay or android auto. He definitley was in his early 30's.

Funny thing is, the Maverick made me a car guy.

I just turned 50 today and have owned maybe a dozen vehicles. I was always a "get me A to B" person, so I got reasonably priced new cars (a couple free ones from work) and drove them for 5 to 10 years. Rarely did anything to them beyond a seat cover for sweat.

Then I bought a '22 XLT Mav hybrid. Stuff like floor mats, tonneau covers, and bed racks started showing up. I started watching car reviews online. I could talk knowledgeabley about the Ford Raptor R. I cared about car cleaning stuff.

My wife asked me if I'd been swapped with someone.

Nope. Just bought a Mav (actually bought a second Mav, a '24, because Carmax gave me over list for the '22 and Ford gave a discount on the new one).

So now I'm in the club, looking for more ways to mod the Mav, like a car guy.
Maverick-19, yep, it's real. Get your vaccine or wear a mask..................

I am 6'-5" too and still like doing my own oil changes, I cant trust that what they put in my truck is going to be the expensive full synthetic (as required in my Transit 350 diesel), they generally put in crap oil.

Started driving around 1977 because my Dad wanted me to get to work & help him. I was riding a single speed bike about 8 miles after school and it was taking me too long.
Have been doing little modification to vehicles since then. Looking at doing modifications to the new 2025 Maverick XLT when it gets here, sometime next year.

I ordered lowering springs an hour after I got my Maverick. I’m 56 and have always enjoyed modifying my cars.

Sitting here at home, I was just thinking about us Maverick Owners. We are a dieding breed of car guys! We are the guys who over 50 years have been modifing all our vehicles to make them different from other peoples cars, and trucks. Todays younger crowd are into tuning, not us, we like to change and add things. Truck guys are hands on people from the minute you drives your truck home, the wheels in your head are thinking what this truck needs! The Maverick was the perfect vehicle to do things to. You could buy basic XL, or go all in like I did with a loaded Lariat, (I still have my 56 Tbird to play with) Even at 84, I still like to get my hands dirty. What's your thinking on this post?
88 years here installed the front hood protector, wheel well covers and Maverick letters. Oxford white. and that will be enough extra black trim. Dont get my hands dirty anymore, did that 38 years as A Ford mechanic.

61 year old engineer with focus on electronics. I always laugh when I hear that older generations don't understand technology. Hell, I helped develop some of it.
