I love other peoples dogs, but don't actually want them for myself. Cats tend to be more independent which I like.

Cats are beautiful. But I am extemely allergic to them. Their hair. Their dander. The little spores they produce that float in the air. So is my wife, daughter and son. Lost a lot of good friends who got cats as pets. Even if they came to my house, they would have the cat dander on their clothes and it would get in our furniture, etc. Anyway, like I said, I find them to be beautiful creatures............excuse me while I go sneeze.............

Thats rough My cat just passed away last month. I had her for 14 years, she was 24

WOW, that's a long time to have the same pet. I had an abandoned cat that I found as a nearly starved to death kitten on a city street, in bitter cold weather. I rescued him and he lived for 22 years.

Some people are pet people, some are dog people and some are cat people. I'm the latter. But I won't get another one because it might outlive me. And I don't want to put the responsibility of caring for a pet onto someone else, after I'm gone.

It was super hard to go through, happened 2 years ago on Valentines. Still miss that lil man.. Sorry for your loss. I am just now getting to a point where I am ready to adopt again.
