So you only remove one bolt each side to install so the hood alignment is not fragged??

6 bolts total to mess with. The hood bolts are reused and was a little tricky but The installation was utube easy.

I installed these back in January of 2022. Install was really easy but I followed the installation instructions to the letter even down to using painters tape on the hood for alignment. My wife helped hold the hood as well which was helpful with hood alignment.

Going almost two years and they have worked flawlessly. Here's an after installation vid I made showing how I marked out the hinges and hood before installation.

I used tape around the brackets, in addition to eyeing where the paint line was, but that's a great idea to put the tape on the hood and fender.

I opened the hood of my truck once to see if there really were an engine in there. There was. I'm done with that end of the Mav. If the dealer wants to install a set of dampers I guess I'd let them but I don't have any interest in doing it.

Do yourself a favor and add the $9 hood spring Ford left off to save money. Before I had to pull the hood release several times, get out to see if it unlocked, and repeat until it did.

Agreed! I don't plan on spending much time with the hood up on a new vehicle.

When I can't physically lift the hood or lower the tailgate then it's time for assisted living and no need for the truck . Maybe someone could use it to move me into assisted living before selling it .
