According to Sarah N Tuned's website the soft shift is required because Ford elected to use a transmission that can barely take the torque that the ecoboost makes stock.it runs great it sounds great ! the only thing i do not like is the diel shift i am going to see if a friend of mine can put a hand shift like the f150
I am guessing that when they wrote that two and a half years ago, they were referring to the shifter dial in the cab of the truck, not the way the transmission changes gears.According to Sarah N Tuned's website the soft shift is required because Ford elected to use a transmission that can barely take the torque that the ecoboost makes stock.
No, she said there had to be a power reduction for a fraction of a second at each upshift to protect the transmission from the engine torque. The transmission is not rated to take the torque of the ecoboost engine.I am guessing that when they wrote that two and a half years ago, they were referring to the shifter dial in the cab of the truck, not the way the transmission changes gears.![]()
I know what Sarah said. Whether it is true or not, I’m saying it has zero to do with the post you quoted. No, she said there had to be a power reduction for a fraction of a second at each upshift to protect the transmission from the engine torque. I was just poing out that any power upgrades we do on our truck might damage the transmission.I know what Sarah said. Whether it is true or not, I’m saying it has zero to do with the post you quoted.
