No drone? It's loud AF inside. I've had it almost a year, and can't stand it. It's great outside, but interior noise is unbearable -- especially if you're in the back seat. I'll be getting rid of mine as soon as I can afford to. And no, this isn't my first performance exhaust. I've had many Magnaflows on V8s, and even another 2.0 4-banger.
I imagine you are talking about the straight pipe option with no muffler.. if you DO have the one with the muffler I’d check the exhaust clamp to see if you have a leak where this mates to the factory exhaust.

And here is a picture of the two different options. The trail rated sidekick with a muffler and the king of the hill sidekick without the muffler

If anyone is interested I have MRT King of the Hill Sidekick for sale. I bought it for my Tremor and never installed it, the box is unopened. Just traded in the Tremor for a Lariat Hybrid. PM me if interested.

Do you have the one with a muffler or with no muffler?? I have the one with the muffler and it’s really not much louder than stock. My girlfriend rode in the car and didn’t complain or even notice I changed the exhaust LOL

I have the one with muffler. I have no leaks. I actually had to pay another $80 to have mine welded. I also have lots of sound deadening and a subwoofer under the back passenger seat. The muffler and exit is too close to the cabin, so the noise resonates at even the mildest acceleration. There's a constant drone on the highway as well. I cannot hear any engine nor road noise -- only exhaust. My family hates it. I'm not a fan either. I hope to switch to Magnaflow or Thermal full exhaust at some point.

That’s really odd honestly. It’s not leaking from the welded area is it? Stainless steel is harder to weld than people think. I have very little drone on the highway at all. Maybe the increase in noise just bothers me less I’m not sure. I have a full Cobb exhaust with a resonator and muffler on my focus st and its noticeably louder than my mrt sidekick is on my maverick. I doubt any other aftermarket option will be more tame in noise or drone in comparison to the mrt sidekick. If I were you I would consider having the stock exhaust welded back on honestly.

Too loud is subjective, right? I put an aftermarket dual mode exhaust on my Audi. In the “open” mode it completely bypassed the mufflers. And never once did I think it was too loud. My spl meter showed 110 db at 3 meters.

I'll have to double check it. My stock exhaust is long gone. It's steel, and wouldn't last long anyway. IDK? It's been a long time since I've had a muffler on a 4-banger. Maybe I'm just used to V8s (Hemis)? There's way too much brrrrrrrr under any acceleration. If I'm alone, I don't mind it too much. Honestly, I'm almost embarrassed to give rides. It's not raspy or farty, but you can always hear it above all other noises. I've seen many youtube videos. There are a few that seem quiet on the intrerior until you get on it. That's what I'm after.
