I guess I won't complain about my '22 ECOboost/FX4/4K getting 35-38MPG on the highway between 72 and 75MPH. At 3-4 car lengths behind a semi at the same speed I can draft it to right around 40 (but I don't like being that close)
Mine only seems to post that on flat to slightly downhill with slightly tail wins at 55 mph (that is the dash number which is an average of 1+mpg lower than reality)

I would expect over 30. But I haven't had the opportunity to check at a steady 60. Most of my trips that include 60 also included long periods of 75-80, where I drop closer to 27.
Above 75, my Ecoboost turns In a consistent
29-30. And above 80 she easily holds 30 and 31 mpg at 85.

Around 60-65 28 tops.

Turbos work like that I guess.

In stop and go city traffic I get around 22 mpg.

City driving is different with stop and go, but getting better mpgs at higher speeds is the opposite of what the laws of physics would typically dictate.

Getting 28 at 60-65 is good for a truck shape, but then to get 31 mpg at 85 mph?
The drag force goes up considerably between those two numbers, like ~ a factor of 1.3...

It must be a turbo thing like you said, and the engine's power curve that makes it operate more efficiently at higher rpms.. Usually that is the opposite as well, as more RPMs usually mean more fuel is used.

In your case, it sounds like you might get better mileage by running the engine at higher RPMs, like in the range when you are doing 85, by using a lower gear. Might be interesting to try.

Since you would also be moving slower, there would be less drag force, so the mpgs should also be higher for that rerson..

First if you need to know in advance the expected MPG stay home. Never have I needed to know what MPG I expect for a trip unless I can't afford the gas to take the trip. And yes there were times in my younger days with 3 kids that was a consideration. As to the exact number for your vehicle and your road conditions I refer you to the expert on numbers.

I would guess around 35-38 mpg at 60 mph. Drive a little slower, on basically flat land, and you will get in the low 40's.
With cruse set at 65mph I used to get about 35/37 with my 25-lariat Hybrid, with my 22 FX4 with cruse set at about 65 and rpm at 2000 I would get about the same 33/35, I only use 87 top tier fuel, I haven't tried it with my Lobo yet, still in break in period only have about 400 miles on it, expecting about the same as the FX4.
This is the same trip I take every few weeks on same road 100 miles round trip.
My 22 FX4 didn't get very good mileage on local roads 17/18 in 3 years of ownership but got great mileage on highways? I always used cruse when possible.
My Lobo is always getting 15mpg with only 400miles on it, I haven't taken it on any highway trips yet. I'm a very conservative driver rarely giving any of my vehicles the juice.
