I am left to believe this is a lost cause. There should not be this much headache over if we are even going to get our Mavericks built in MY22.
With that being said when I started this process my current car had a Carvana offer of $13k. It has since gone up to $17k. I paid $15k for it in 2017. Wednesday I go test drive a 2021 GMC Canyon. price is nearly identical as the maverick I specked out. Just can't pass this opportunity in hopes my maverick will somehow get a build date and arrive before my current cars value plummets.
Couldn't be more excited. Best of luck to you all.

Everytime I read a thread about someone canceling an order, only thing I see is the dealer grinning from ear to ear.
I could be wrong but it's my understanding that they will get that Maverick regardless which they then sell with ADM. WIN for the dealership.

I have not canceled my order or notified my dealer I have gone a different route :)
I will see what happens and take advantage of my current situation.
Maybe buy the mav when it comes in only to sell it

Remenber, there were times in the past when lots were full and salespeople would knock each other over to get to a potential customer pulling into the dealership. When depresion comes and it will, you will see the same salespeople at their desks with tissue boxes and whining because they can't afford franks to go with their beans.

Moving on doesn't mean I'm airheaded enough to let someone else take control of a vehicle I ordered 5 months ago.
it means I'm no longer hung up on this one vehicle. Constantly checking forums and dealers to see if anything is available. It's a headache. And I will move on to a more capable truck and free my mind from this maverick mess.

Moving on is not a black and white comment. It means I'm no longer riding the maverick train till the wheels fall off.

Got it. You’re sticking around to tell everyone that you’re moving on.

Sorry, I shouldn’t tease you. It’s been a frustrating ride. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Good strategy. Similar to what I'm doing, except I have a perfectly good F-150 for doing my truck stuff until Maverick situation clarifies itself.

You might want to look at Ranger along with the Colorado. I personally would not buy the current Ranger (since I already have the F-150), but there's a case to be made for some people needing a truck now for getting the Ranger and driving until your Maverick comes in- then trading the Ranger for the Maverick if and when the time comes to consider such things. Could be an even swap or maybe come out a little ahead on $..

I would, either way there's going to be a markup, better for you to potentially pocket the money rather than a dealer.

I’m in a similar boat. Just bought a 2020 Tacoma SR because my vehicle died 4 months ago and the one vehicle situation wasn’t working out. At the 7 month mark I decided to buy something else. Not cancelling the Mav and will make a decision when it comes in. Loving the Tacoma so far, so we’ll see!
