Totally agree. The big selling point for me was that it was a truck with a hybrid engine and was around $20K. Don't get me wrong, I love my Maverick but there is no way on earth I would pay anywhere near $40K for one even if it had every option on it. It simply is not a $35-$40K truck. Once you jump into the $40K price range, there are much better options out there. Options that are an actual body on frame truck, not what is essentially an SUV with a truck bed.
This was why I cancelled, exactly that situation with pricing. It’s too cheaply built for me at that price.

Absolutely this. My price-protected, 4%-under-invoice Lariat Lux Hybrid rings in at $29,300 + TTL. This is the absolute max a Maverick is worth. The materials, the quality of the work.. it's just impossible to justify it past about $30,000.

Yep 38k for a pretty basic XL hybrid for me in Canada with my rollover, fuuuck that. I had a Ridgeline before and it’s way better quality.

In all of those random thoughts, you failed to consider the main reason the Maverick is a preferred option for many- it is thousands of dollars cheaper.
You are right money is a "big" consideration but I didn't address it because some paid less than MSRP, some paid MSRP, some paid more and some much more so for my purposes the MSRP differential between a Ranger and a Maverick (both XLT's) appointed with the options I want is about $3k.
Also both trucks will fit in my garage and that another big factor for some owners.
