Seems it's based on region. Change the zip from Charlotte to Indy and it goes from what @Grumpa showed to the 2 year limit and only $500. Doesn't seem to be a solid marketing decision. Funny stuff.

Ford does not expect us to be intelligent enough to try different zip codes.

Still only $500 for me; the college grad/student discount is still higher at $750.

For those that show their certificate will expire before their Maverick arrives, the certificate should list a phone number for information about the certificate. You can contact them to re-issue a new certificate and should be able to fix the certificate so the dealership can still honor price protection and/or a private offer if it was a roll-over from MY22.

I think you’ll find the certificate has to exist and be indirectly connected to the order when it is originally placed. Otherwise only valid when closing the sale before expiry. But they may find a workaround for you. Good luck!

Thank you so much for posting this. I had no idea this existed. My certificate is for $1,000 and is good until July 5, 2023. The bottom of my certificate says……

FYI When I ordered my truck they knew I was military but I didn't fill anything out until we got the call that the truck was at the dealership- salesman gave us a link to go fill info out.

When my Maverick order came in to Chapman Ford back in October, they told me I was unable to apply the military discount and receive price protection because it hadn't been locked into Smart Vincent. Other dealers informed it shouldn't be an issue, but they wouldn't budge. Later I found out I could've contacted the rebate help line for the certificates and they could actually backdate those rebates which allows you to receive the price protection AND the military rebate.

So yes, I'm aware of the fine print. But that's only as helpful as the dealer, and Ford itself. This is also why I will never recommend anyone ordering through Chapman Ford in Philadelphia, even if they offer "under invoice" pricing again when the order window opens up.

Well, this will be interesting. When I finished the deal last Friday, MAy 26th, the F&I man asked if I was a veteran. I told him I spent three years in the Army including a year in Vietnam.
