On a micro3 fuse, the center pin is power, the 2 outside pins go to a circuit for something. If you add a fuse tap, with only 1 wire coming out of the tap, you are only using 1/2 of the 3pin fuse. Is that correct??????
Many micro3 fuse taps on sale , I only found one micro3 fuse tap with 2 wires, but it seems like they should all be made that way.
I don't get it, what am I missing:question:

You're not missing anything. It's just the way it is. If you need dual taps, buy that.

To be honest, I've never seen an automotive fuse tap with 2 wires. I would assume one with 2 wires would be to provide connections to 2 different components

I guess I am just wondering why you would only use 1/2 of the available fuses when you use a tap???
I must be over-thinking it.

Yea, I bought one of those adapters also. I'm gonna use it for my dash cam and ambient lighting that will turn off with the truck off. The power point stays on with the key off for 4500 seconds, and I don't have Forscan to reset the time.
I also want to run some Raptor lights, I am going to power them on with the key on, from the in cab fuse panel. I just do not want to cut the marker light harness , plus I want them on with the DRL's and headlights.
I only found 1 listing online for the tap with 2 wires, its ordered, from sherco-auto.com. We shall see how it all turns out.

The only issue with the cig lighter/power point adapter, is that the power point stays on for 4500 seconds(1hr 15 min), after key off, unless you set the time down with Forscan.
I had a Ford tech try to adjust mine with the Ford software, he couldn't figure out how to change it.

Since it has 2 fuses internally, one per circuit, it just taps ones of them. Most people are just tapping one circuit to do one add-on. No need to have an extra wire hanging around that could short against something.
