Metric tap set for bed mounting points?

Planning on picking up a tap and die set for tapping and cleaning threads in the bed after bed liner install. Are all holes desiginated metric?

My understanding is all are metric. When I had my Ranger spray in done I needed to do the same to re-install the tie down hooks. It will make it much easier to do.

I found a couple of videos on Youtube and the upper holes (where the locking bed rail system is mounted) are M8x1.25 and the ones for the tie down hooks are M6 but not sure of the pitch. Maybe try the Ford parts dept. for info.

I don't know much about it but in prior threads about this people have mentioned that you need something called a "thread chaser" for cleaning out the bed liner material from the threads and not a tap which can damage it. You may be able to search on that to find the old threads. I made a mental note of that because I plan to get a spray in bed liner when I get my Maverick.

Not sure, my first time having it done in a vehicle and I've never gone through the process. Makes sense that they would do that - I will be sure to bring it up!

Looking at my factory SIB on my Maverick and my other trucks, I see they taped off most areas prior to spraying.

Be sure to point out the drain holes toward the front of the bed, you don’t want to drill into them like Ford originally did and compromise the gas tank.
