I had a 1991 Caprice. Bought it used with 227 miles on it! Story was small lady bought it and traded it in because she couldn't see the road as she had to look between top of steering wheel and dash and hood appears to be 125 feet long. I put 218,000 miles on it. Got 12-14 mpg city and 26-36 mpg hwy (Mine had trans that in cruise would drop ice to really low rpm to coast. Would take a second +/- to engage trans and rev ice, which caused trans complaints and they dropped that feature in a year or two, I think.). Any way if I still had it I would be looking for a hybrid drive train. It was a boat but was not real heavy. Had a 5.0 V8 I think.
EDIT TO ADD: Mine had "police car suspension"??? And I had to buy Cadillac brake shoes and pads as regular Caprice ones were too small.
I'd say its more in line with the Santa Cruz. A lil more plush and luxurious.
Fun fact Chevy actually developed a V10 in the early 90s to put in a bubble caprice. It had a lengthened hood. I believe they also built one with 4 wheel steer.
