I was blessed with buying and receiving a 2022 Ford Maverick XLT AWD and now receiving my brand new 2023 Ford Maverick XLT AWD. My advice is I placed the order for the 2022
I was waiting for that one to come in with no eta in September I placed the order for the 2023. I had the 2022 for 6 months and sold it for more than I paid for it and today I picked up my 2023 with the window sticker that was $2,000 more than the 2022
In reality I drove my 2022 12,000 Miles and today it only cost me $735 including transfer fees plate fees and everything else for a brand new truck. My advice is order another truck the minute the order banks open. You'll always get your deposit back. I know a lot of people on this website have waiting months and months and months for trucks and I'm already on my second one. Luck to everyone and be safe.

Thanks for the advice but I don't want to go through that dealership pain for a while. Maybe in a couple years.

I placed my order on day one of the 2023 order banks opening in September and was the first Mav order at my local dealership. Just under 9 months later, I’m picking up my Lariat Hybrid before a list of their 2022 orders! Luck was on my side 🤍

I did something along those lines and my narrative is similar EXCEPT the hybrid Lariat Mav I ordered Sept 15,2022 has not been built. If it doesn't get built by the time the order bank opens for the '24's, I may cancel the 2023 and order a '24. Meanwhile, I am enjoying the 2022 2.0EB and like you, hope to at least break even after selling my 2022. Taking into account the price increase: I paid $1800 above sticker for my 2022 plus the as of now known price increase on my ordered 2023 of $2000, hope to get close to break even. We shall see.

My 2023 should be at the dealership in the next week or two. I ordered September 16, 2022 but changed the engine in January from hybrid to ecoboost. It was picked up 3 weeks later. Lariat Luxury package with copilot 360, 360 assist, and spare tire.

When I changed the engine because I had the Lariat it went to AWD, which I didn’t want but got. Ford gave me $3,500 in rebates, the dealer took off $400 at first but went up from $749 to $995 in dealer fees. After a conversation about everything with one of the owners he took off another $200. All in all, after tax, tag and title I am walking off the lot $1k under sticker.

I sold my 1996 Ford Ranger with 184,000 miles for $5,500. It was extremely well maintained, outside of a couple of small dents and one 2” scratch it looked like brand new, The bed only had a few minor scratches. I had maintenance receipts for the last 15 years. The engine still did not burn oil, transmission shifted smooth, no fluid leaks, there were no issues with it. The new owner was happy to have it.

I plan to order a hybrid when the order banks open up next month. I have another 2023 hybrid still on order but it looks a bit dim on getting it built because of the engine constraints.

Last Sept, 2023MY capacity sold out in 4 days. If just the people who ordered a 2022 and 2023 Mav order only one 2024 (not several from different dealers), my bet is capacity sells out in 1 day.

But the order window may be shorter because millions of others now know the Maverick exists. Even with a 3rd shift, 2024MY capacity could sell out in hours. The website may even crash.

It's not enough to get your order in on time, your dealer must have enough allocations for it to get built. Be sure they tell you what number you are in their Maverick line. #10 out of 20, good. #30 out of 20, not good, go order from somewhere else.

And while you are at it, be sure your sales rep signs and initials the order form he hands you after you hand write "No dealer add-ons or mark up upon delivery."

I ordered my 2022 on the 8th of June 2022, and in September was moved onto the 2023 orders. I have not had ANY correspondence from Ford yet, and am getting pretty discouraged. Do US orders get priority on Canadian orders? I have not seen many Mavericks up this way, and will probably not continue with the order unless they guarantee that there will be not price increase. I can afford to pay cash, so financing is not an issue, but if Mazda imports their pickup (MX-50?) before I get some info I will probably just take the Maverick and sell it upon arrival. I have had a long relationship with Ford products, starting with a couple of Cortinas, through a Ranger and F-150, a Focus, Escape and currently an Edge. This customer is very jaded by this lack of customer service and will look at imports in the future.
