Maverick Lover

Yes, I'm an unabashed Maverick Lover! When people see my new (mid-sized) truck and ask me the inevitable "how do you like it?", my eyes light up and I tell them how perfect it is for my purposes.
I know it fits many people's lifestyle, but I'm a sideliner beekeeper and it does it all for me.
It carries everything I need (although I sometimes have to remove my tri-fold cover in order to stack stuff higher).
The 110v outlet in the cab allows me to run my vaporizer out in the field (it's a long story, but honey bees have a mite that can kill them if allowed to proliferate).
The 12v connections in the bed allow me to run my syrup pump used to feed the bees (yes, they sometimes need help getting through the winter).
It costs me under $5 to make a round trip around my bee yards. Hallelujah!
And, all the way, I'm listening to my favorite blues mix on Android Auto in the super quiet cab. The level of quietness was totally unexpected in my under-$30,000 XLT.
Count me as a totally satisfied first-time Ford owner.

Hey that’s great! I’m also a beekeeper here. Third year but I’m only running 4 hives so nothing major. You know I’ve never thought about using my power outlet to run my vaporizer. That’s a great idea. How’s your hives? We have been in a drought here in my area of the Deep South so my fall honey crop isn’t as good as last years. I’m about to break them down for winter, take what I can, and treat this week.

My hives are all doing great. We don't get as large of honey crop up here. 50lbs per hive is doing pretty good. I'm taking about 40 hives into winter. Ours lasts until late March, so the girls are seldom out for 5 months.
I have to laugh... here we are on the Maverick forum talking about bees. We never miss an opportunity.

But, are you sure it was a bee? Most people get stung by a wasp and think it was a bee. There's a big difference between the two.

It was so long ago and I was so young. It tried to crawl in my ear and I fingered it so it poked me. That doesn't sound right...

Pretty much any flying insect. Bleh. But damn that honey is good
