I believe from what's been posted that when the internal temp of HVB reaches 113°F weather it's actually that or higher, at some point, the battery is shut down. I recall reading somewhere that the HVB coolant loop passes through a thermal xchanger which is chilled by the ACC compressor when needed. Also at some internal ecvt temperature the field coils will have to be shut down due to increased oil temp, I expect HVB temp cutoff will happen sooner. The ecvt oil also is looped through an external thermal exchanger (per John at Weber State video).
Mmmm. No. Not quite. The upper limit is still not documented. But it's higher than that. See mine yesterday:
Ford Maverick Maverick in hot temperature 9EF29702-26B8-46A3-BC71-94371E9E1C3F

118°F and no reduction in battery power. Charge limit (kW) is always 32.0 maximum and tapers with high charge; low and high temperature. No taper witnessed at 118°F.
🤷🏻‍♂️

In the Escape Hybrid, the Motor & Generator would not be shut down until 285°F. I think there was a "warning" at 265°F. If thats not it, it's close.

Phoenix, piece of cake.

I like watching John in those Webber Auto videos-

Man, I'm cooking that eCVT oil...

The millwright in me says worry more about eCVT oil change interval, than engine oil.

I did an early engine oil filter, drain and fill. I don't like leaving the factory break in oil in there, but plan on using the onboard analysing for the next drain and fill-
Might change the filter and top off midway through the cycle...

But with me repeatedly overheating the re-gen function, not sure how quickly I should worry about changing the eCVT oil???
Your eCVT is not cooking. But if it were, the "cooking" oil is good to 375°F and the computer is going to stop you in the upper 200's.

You'll be fine. Underhood fire excepted.

Ready to load up the Maverick and move to a cooler climate. As a native Texan, the excessive heat and drought conditions in San Antonio that runs from May to early November is finally getting to me.
I agree about the tortuously long summers here… Durango and Pagosa Springs have relatively mild winters and heavenly summers. We’re going to rent there for a year and see if we prefer it to DFW. My youngest daughter lived there for years and said that the winters are pleasant due to the low humidity…

Seems like I read 70-75k unless pulling trailer, high heat then more often. One would expect a pop up screen for it. I previously put 35k in mind if for no other than to verify OEM fill.

eCVT oil is supposed to be lifetime of the vehicle unless it gets submerged in water or some other calamity.

Makes sense the poster that claimed his regen shut off at 113 ambient had another problem or ???. The critical internal temp, most likely would be due to integrity of polymer(or ?) coating of field coils. The oil and each motor has it's own thermometer. Have you seen them with forscan?

Yes I've seen them.
Not with forscan.

Back in 2007, Toyota started selling the FJ Cruiser with a "sealed" transmission. No dipstick and "Lifetime" fluid-

Maybe the real question is, what are your expectations of the life of the transmission? Toyota might think 150,000 miles is enough to ask, but I'd rather see 350,000.

I remember arguing that the beauty of the FJ automatic, is you can actually drop the pan and change the filter.

I'm trying to learn more about the eCVT in my new one, but I do NOT drink the "lifetime" Kool aid-

I presume the 99 battery coolant temp shown in your picture is the output temperature reading and not the input?
Unknown. I have yet to track down where the sensor is located.

Escape hybrids, about a million of them, support lifetime. Mine was.
No issues. 235,000 miles then was rear-ended that totaled the car for other reasons.

@AncientMan Pagosa Springs looks like a beautiful area and was on my potential places to relocate for a while until housing costs rose out of reach.

Okay. Regarding the HV Battery:

At less than 50°F the system is supposed to add heat from the exhaust.

At above 95°F the system is supposed to add chilling from the air-conditiong.

Presumably in the middle it is just circulating through the radiator.

The battery is allowed 122°F before reduction in use.

This photo makes sense to me:

This photo is confusing to me:

About 80°F outdoors.
