I added the Vehicle Security System/ Perimeter Plus to my 23 XLT hybrid lux prior to taking delivery. Primarily because to the high number of vehicle thefts. The bonus was the included remote start feature with the key fob.
It uses the original XLT 3 button key fob. Just press " Lock - Unlock - Lock" .
The salesman, for a brief moment, didn't think that it was working, but then remembered that it was a hybrid and the ICE didn't have to be running for the A/C to work.

Yeah, I've done 9 years in northern climates worse than Toronto.

Give us a holla some time from about December 15th through April 15th and let us know how the engine block heater and all that other stuff works.

AC works in about 30 seconds. Can't say the same for a heater.
Ready to load up the Maverick and move to a cooler climate. As a native Texan, the excessive heat and drought conditions in San Antonio that runs from May to early November is finally getting to me.

Has anyone had a drop off of MPG? I have the hybrid and since it has been so hot, my mileage sucks. Under 30.
Yep, drove from College Station to San Antonio in temperatures hovering around 101F and averaged 31.7mpg. Lowest I have gotten. Road speeds between 60 and 85mph.

80 here in Pennsylvania, but for all the smoke from Canada would be nice, hope they get moving in all the forest fires
Well maybe put up a high wall? Or send more of your firefighers to help. As I understand it we have invoked Article 5 of the NATO agreement, so get in here and help. We have firefighters from several European countries already... We have lots of slightly burnt hot dogs and S'chmors ready to feed you with.

Shoot! Sunday night we ran the Texas border from McAllen to El Paso. The temp dropped to the 80s for about 20 minutes before 4am. At midnight in was over 100 and by dawn south of Carlsbad NM it was 106 and 109 before noon.
UGH!

Everybody gets their turn. It's only fair.

California: cool and wet and clean air this year. Can wash your truck and water your lawn at the same time. You've read about the past horrors though.

After hearing no remote starting on the key bob makes me almost want to keep my 22 lariat.

Do you have to still put the key in to drive it?

Well it hasn't been triple digits here in Montana yet, but it has been mid 90s for a few hours. It's during those hours I greatly appreciate remote start.

Is that 85 speed limit for real?
