Focus on the out the door price and what other crap they are adding on. 4K is not as bad as most dealerships. It could actually be a good deal.
Will do! When you say what other crap they add on, what should I be looking for to make sure I’m not getting screwed?

Thanks

I would think your Santa Cruz would almost be an even swap (moneywise) for the Mav with the markup. Heck it may be worth more than the Mav. Have you priced what the Santa Cruz is worth???
I will roll over about $1500 of positive equality. Plus fords $1000 military rebate

If you want the Mav, I suggest you get off this Forum and get to Maine before someone else snags it. Just Sayin.

Agreed. The overprice bubble will burst eventually, but I agree with your timeframe. Crazy times we are living in.
Yes, very crazy times. I've been in the industry for 24 years and have never seen anything like what has happen in the last 2 1/2 years. Q1 of 2024 is the absolute quickest dealers are going to have cars on the lots again. Scary but true.

haha right! I'm heading there tomorrow. The salesman has today off and it was his order for a customer who bailed on it so he said they can't sell it on him. So i have it locked until tomorrow. :)

If you have decided, you want it, I think you better at least call the sales manager at the dealership to confirm that you want it and ask what is necessary to make sure you get it. I am sure the salesman has good intentions but, those intentions can easily be overridden by the sales manager, especially if someone offers another salesperson more than 4K. Someone once said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. It seems that may be true at times!

Whether or not 4k is crazy is totally dependent on the person and their financial situation, need for a new vehicle, etc.

4k on an XLT isn’t as bad as some of the other horror stories we’ve heard about dealers but it’s not nothing. Eye of the beholder.

That's what I was thinking too, grab it before someone else does. I'm def. not an off-road guy, I just like the utility of having a truck bed. I def. I don't need it, but more of a want. I have a Santa Cruz I just bought turbo with AWD but really miss my old hybrid especially with gas prices going up... ugh idk... lol
Ask yourself how long you want to own the Maverick. You can only drive one at a time. What outside of MPG will the Maverick bring to your near and far term future that the Santa Cruz hasn't or won't?

I'm hoping until the wheels fall off lol or I pass it down to one of my kids. honestly, MPGs is a huge thing for me. I drive a lot and I'm getting 22mpg on my santa cruz. If i can get great fuel economy plus have a truck bed for when i need it i think is a great balance for me.

Hi everyone! Im new to the group and would like some advice. I just got a call yesterday saying a customer order didn’t go through for a maverick hybrid XTL with luxury package. The hybrids are extremely hard to get right now. They are doing a 4k markup! Do you think it’s worth the mark up or should I just wait it out? I just don’t know if I want this opportunity to slip since I don’t know when I will be able to get a hold on another hybrid. So my question is would you pay the 4k mark up or is that just crazy talk?! Lol thanks!
Only you can decide whether it's worth it to you. Do you NEED the truck badly enough to have to pay $4K over MSRP for it? Will your finances be able to handle the additional burden? Can you wait until the summer to order a 2023 model and wait another five or six months for that to show up?

Answer those questions and you'll know what to do.

Ford's only 1000 dollar incentive is for adaptive mobility equipment. The other four incentives are 500 for military, first responders and farm bureau members and 750 for students. I check the featured offers, pricing & incentives and additional offers for the Maverick each month for economy and market adjusted circumstances.
