Sounds like you're the one complaining. The OP was regarding how to not have Bluetooth connect to the Maverick when they're in their other car. That's a legitimate concern/curiosity.

Well, it's more of a curiosity than a concern if you ask me. I'm curious about a lot of things I'm not concerned about.

Example: you know how laptop computers go to "sleep" when idle to save power? If I key up just a 5 watt 2-way radio in the same room it magically "wakes up" the laptop.

Curious. But not a concern.

I don't know... I'd be concerned. It sounds like your radio and computer are plotting against you. They could be planning to take over the world one day? Seriously though, the radio sends out radio frequency energy which the laptop can detect with its antenna causing it to wake up.

I took the OP as someone with a legit concern/curiosity that they were looking for assistance with. For me, it would be a concern because I'd be the one to call the wrong person... lol. Regardless, I didn’t see it as someone complaining.

Sounds like it's programmed to Data Mine.
No. If it's Android Auto, it wants to run audio through Bluetooth. With it plugged in and using Android auto it will keep turning it back on.

The data cable is for charging and displaying the navigation screen and any apps.

Since the truck has no computer running the screen to use the phones data, the entire screen is rendered by your phone. That's actually a lot of data it's pushing through a USB c cable. It's basically streaming a movie into the screen.

Also using Bluetooth keeps the call or audio going if you unplug or have a bad wired connection or use a cheap cable or it's worn and or loose.
