Got my Mav about 3 weeks ago, hybrid, lux package, Compass 360, Area 51. I like it a lot! And now, on a highway trip, CRACK. 16" windshield crack, passenger side.

So, called car insurance, replacement scheduled in about a week. Here's my question: anybody else had to have this done? The Compass 360 unit at the inside top of the windshield apparently has to be re-calibrated also.

Also, are replacement windshields available for the Mavs?

Yikes.

Any thoughts, or advise? Thanks.

Yep - took 15 days to get the windshield shipped in to Fort Worth. Only OEM glass is available currently, I would bet your wait time would be similar to mine. Safelite originally quoted 10 days, but it didn't arrive as projected.

The camera system will need to be calibrated, but they jad no problems with that - entire replacement and calibration took 1.5 hours, so not bad.

Unfortunately they did not place my new glass in quite right, it is not centered- it sits hard up against the driver's A pillar and is gapped on the Pax side. Store manager was not too happy with his team, so he ordered another as a backup and they will re-set the glass this saturday.....

If you have a Lariat make sure you are getting the acoustic replacement.

Sounds like it may be totaled due to lack of parts to repair. Kidding, but do hope you will keep us updated on the repair process.

Which dealer is that? I've never been that happy with mine. They've flat out lied before.

Hello - to those who were successful warrantying your windshields, how did you go about it? I can’t get my dealership to listen to me that the crack is on the inside glass - they said it’s just a rock chip I can’t see, or that I must have hit a bump causing the glass to crack (???). The glass shop next door did some tests and confirmed it is an interior crack, but the dealership won’t listen to them as it has to be done by their trained technicians. And then, in the same conversation, say “we don’t have tests or training to assess that” and “Ford will do everything in their power to deny warranty claims”. This is coming from the dealership! I don’t feel awesome about owning a new truck with issues I can’t warranty, and being gaslit to think that it’s my fault for hitting a bump in the road…

If anyone who has been successful in a warranty claim please can tell me the steps to take that would be awesome! Thank you!

That's the dealer, they already made your money once you drove out. maybe, you can try to contact Ford directly.
