Found one on Amazon. High bright LED for a side by side off roader. It has 2 switches. One for white light, one for red light. It's on order. Once its here I can fab a mount bracket. I made a template, but will probably change that idea a little once the light shows up. With a small LED flash light positioned, you can see how much light it throws into the storage area from that one point. I figure I would mount a tilt switch in with the bracket, so I only have to run a 1 wire feed.

I was thinking keeping it simple and going with a couple of battery operated, motion sensor stick on lights with velcro underneath.

Good idea. Quick and easy. I am mounting this high enough though that it floods the compartment with light. I need the red for night vision, and of course white light for regular when I'm just rummaging thru there. I dont want to deal with batteries. I like the dual on /off switches. I was also worried that mounting something low in the compartment that stuff in the compartment and the dividers would block some of the light

I just shipped a tiny light box to ohio today for $5. A small padded mailer would be about that. Let me know.
I'll probably just return them. I don't see how either of us could save any money if I sold them and shipped them to you.

I decided on the textured grey cockpit Vinyl. It uses a waterbased adhesive that's heat activated. I still have 1 more end divider to do at break time. But in my opinion, these look great.

This thread is meant to chronicle the accessories I purchased for my Maverick, as well as the prices for each item, and ease of assembly or install. Also any items I may have fabricated. I am doing this because theres some folks on the forum who are not very mechanically inclined. The aim is to also show that a lot of this stuff is not very hard to do even for those who are not mechanically inclined.

Myself, I am a mechanic, and have been fixing, modifying, and fabricating things since my teens. I am 54. I am in the aviation industry as a sheetmetal structural repair technician, and also teach sheetmetal repair. I want to make each post geared towards the novice on the truck club who is not very mechanically inclined. For those of you who are mechanical you will probably appreciate the prices and where I got each item, or the method of fabrication. Theres lots to come. I have had this truck only 2 days.

I didnt know how to link before 3 or 4 days ago. I dont wsnt to go back through all these things to post the links. Needless to say they should be easy enough to search on amazon and ebay if currently available. .

Absolutely amazing job, Matt. Clearly, you put a lot of time and effort in all of your mods even when they are hidden most of the time as are these dividers. Super job and good choice of paint.

Thanks for the kudos. I bailed out on the paint idea, decided on bonding on aircraft cockpit vinyl. This does not scratch very easily, and cleans easily.

Of course you did! I should have read your install post more closely and realized that "paint" just would not do. LOL. The kudos are richly deserved and thanks for sharing.

Working on a rear underseat light that works with a tilt switch, and will light up my under seat storage compartment. Putting lights inside the actual compartment is fine unless its loaded up with stuff then what you have in there can block the light. I wanted something that is more like a trunk light on a car.

I made the first bracket out of steel as a prototype, realized the wires would be exposed and was not happy with that idea. It looked too slap together home made. I am all about aesthetics to go with the functionality. This was not going to do for me.

I went with clear template plastic which is easier to shape for a template of bracket #2. I liked it a lot better than #1 but the sharp pointy angle still got me thinking hmmm, its still looking like a home project. So I modified the concept a little more with template #3. All will clear the plastic bin edge just fine with #3 having about 1/2" to spare and looking more like a store bought accessory, so #3 is the winner.

At this point i got to cutting and bending. I will use my welder and MIG the side plates on, then grind them down. When installed, the original seat bumper and mounting hardware will hold this in place. Theres a fair bit more to go on this project. I just got to the stage where the bracket is finalized and fabricated. I am thinking that a black wrinkle finish would be the way to go on this part.

BTW I am using a super bright LED setup off Amazon that's for a Polaris or other side by side buggy. It's meant to strap to a roll bar. The one I selected has red and white light. So whichever you prefer. The plan is to wire it into the dome light circuit for power, and add a tilt switch inside the housing.
