Hello guys,

I got my XLT almost 2 months ago, and I still cannot find the lumbar adjustment knob.
To this day, Ford still includes manual lumbar support for the XL and XLT in the brochure.

Am I missing something? Has anyone with the XL/XLT found this secret feature?

Link to the brochure? I just looked at the manual and it has nothing about lumbar support for manual seats, only for the power seats.

The manual only references lumbar support on the power seats but even the Ford website shows manual lumbar on 100A. Also, the order guide last updated in November shows manual lumbar on XL/XLT.

I was thinking that the manual passenger seat had lumbar support on the Lariat luxury package version, just double checked on the build my truck tool and it only mentions it for the power driver seat.

My wife will be disappointed. She was looking forward to that.

The Order Guide shows "with Lumbar". It does not list as "manual" or "adjustable".

â—Ź Seat, Front
— 6-Way Manual Adjustable Driver w/Lumbar
— 4-Way Manual Adjustable Passenger w/ Lumbar
— Bucket Seats

Yup. It does not specifically say that the lumbar support is adjustable. This kind of vagueness is annoying. I don't really care about the adjustment or lack thereof, I'd just like to be able to easily access accurate information. The marketing and legal departments make sure it's clear as mud.

There is no legal recourse for this stuff, anyway, so not worth mentioning. The order guides and brochures are often slightly incorrect by the time the production models are rolling out, for various reasons. The rear defrost is another thing that got cut somewhere along the way. There is plenty of fine print around this to cover them and brochures are not legally binding in the first place. As I understand it, what matters is what is on your Monroney - nothing else.

I have a couple of examples of brochures being wrong in a positive and a negative way in my recent purchases.

Negative - 2021 Forte GT - brochure says "auto-leveling LED headlights". These headlights do not auto-level, it is not on the Monroney in spite of being in the brochure.

Positive - 2017 Kia Soul Turbo - brochure says "heated outboard rear seat bottom cushions". Rear back rests also heat, but brochure seems to indicate they would not. Not sure what Monroney said.

FWIW, the order guide is technically an internal document so the wording probably isn't as specific because it's meant for employees not customers. The website however shows "manual lumbar" which implies that it's adjustable otherwise what would be "manual"?

I had this surprise when I bought my Chevy Cruze. All my prior vehicles have had adjustable lumbar, so I didn't even consider that a vehicle might not have it.

This would only apply to XLT Lux and Lariat trucks, and only to the driver seat. The builder repeatedly said that XL/XLT trucks would have manual lumbar. But the builder was wrong.

I circled “if equipped” in red.

Yeah, I saw it. But the OP has just an XLT and the builder told him he'd have manually adjustable lumbar, something that does not exist at all in production Mavericks. Based on what he said, I assumed he already knew about the power lumbar in the lux/Lariat.
