Looking to tie down ladder to front of vehicle

I am planning to haul a 36 ft extension ladder on the truck. I will have roof bars over the cab and a hitch extension t bar in very back. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations of tie off point in front. I am not opposed to installing a d ring or hold down bracket up front. Suggestions?

I use under-hood anchor straps on various vehicles. They bolt to the top fender mounting bolts of your choice and get “flipped out” between the gap of the hood and fenders when needed. I have used them for ladders, canoes, etc…. When not in use, they just get flipped back under the hood, out of the way. A great solution when you don’t have any vehicle tie-down points up front and/or don’t want straps running over a hood/grill/bumper.

I sure hope that 36' is an extended length and not collapsed length. If that's how long it is in the shortest position, that's almost 10' longer on each end than the truck, which will be very difficult to navigate through traffic with the overhangs and extra turning radii needed due to the overhang on both ends.

Most if not all extension ladders are named after the longest stretched length. Fully collapsed most 36' extension ladders are 12' long.

Second that idea. Used them years ago in my Nissan Cube to haul a Wavewalk kayak. You can position them anywhere around the perimeter of the hood. I use 1/4 inch polyester rope and trucker's hitch now instead of straps and ratchets.
