Could not agree more! I have tailgate lettering on mine as well.

I went with Matte Black. I chose the puffy raised style. Blues contrast nicely to orange/yellow hues. So does purple. I originally used a reflective black, but it would be white when any direct light hit it. Even on a sunny/cloudy day. White looks awful with Cyber Orange.

I was originally trying to stay away from the black lettering, because I wanted to stay away from the "bumblebee" look. After seeing it though, it looks pretty damn good. Especially with those blacked out tail lights.

And for full bumblebee look, my darkened taillights actually have a honeycomb pattern in them!

But it certainly would look good without a pattern too. I used Mid Smoke.

I ordered these on eBay for $19.70. They took about 45 minutes to put on. After the third letter, I determined if you wet the medal and letter, they are easy to put on and move around.

Thanks! I had someone ask me at the gas pump yesterday if I liked my Hybrid. I told him it was an Ecoboost. He then asked why I had a Hybrid badge. I told him him it was a blacked out EcoBoost badge. He didn't seem impressed with my customization. Oh, well!
