I purchased mine off of Etsy. The tailgate letters were put on almost two years ago and are still adhered to my truck. They have 3M permanent tape as the backing.

I have more decals in the works to make my truck personalized.

No, no vinyl on the letters on the tailgate nor the hood. They are all thick 3D material with permanent 3M tape on the back.
Initially I put reflective lettering on the bug shield in Oct. ‘22, but they deteriorated a little at a time until it was unbearable for me to look at. I decided on the 3D lettering on the front just like the back. I put the chrome colored 3D lettering on the tailgate in Nov ‘22, and they are still in place and not faded nor deteriorated in any shape or form and look just as new as when I purchased them.

In the works as soon as I get back home in a few weeks. Stars and Stripes on the rear panels, “US Army Veteran” Star on the hood and tailgate, and maybe just the plain Star on the driver’s and passenger’s door. The tanks will go on the tailgate. The M60A3 will say “Dino Tanker” instead of “M60A3”. The M1 Abrams will say “Jedi Tanker” instead of “M1 Abrams”.

I had thought about Shelby Racing Stripes along with what I have above, but;
1. It would be “too busy” and take away from my theme.
2. It’s not my personality. While it looks good, I’ve never been one for sports cars and sports car accessories. All of my vehicles I’ve ever owned were business and family oriented. This is the first vehicle I ever spent money on accessories and personalization. I’m almost 65 and hope to keep my little truck for a very long time!

This is not my truck, but someone’s truck on Etsy who makes the Shelby stripes.

I should put on some kind of decals too but am a bit afraid I'll mess it up. The lettering is the only thing I've ever done to any vehicle. That was easy, but still, decals ... not sure yet, but thinking about it. I am almost 64 and never modified a vehicle ever!

I hire a sign shop to make and apply the decals. It’s the same sign shop I used for 20 years to put lettering on my vehicles I used for my DJ business. I tried putting on a few decals, and it was a disaster!

I went to Tufskinz and bought the red, white and blue lettering but the blue didn't work. So, I asked for them to fabricate the letters in all Red and White stripes. I love the way it came out! Now, I have the Red, White and Blue Maverick letters available if anyone wants them - will let them go for $50 (I paid $59.99 plus tax and shipping on Amazon). Let me know if you are interested.

I had these from AutoCarImage on Etsy on my Maverick and they were fine. However I bought a matte black set for my new Frontier and the top coat on the letters started peeling off when I lightly pressed them with a microfiber cloth over the top (per their instructions). He replaced them but they did the same thing again and he refuses to give me a refund at this point. I don't think the quality (at least on the matte finish) is as good as it was a couple years ago.

Yeah I had the black version of those for about 2 weeks when I first bought my Maverick. The black stainless was so reflective that they just reflected the paint color and you couldn't even tell they were there. Between that and a bunch of laser burns around the edges I swapped them pretty quickly.

I replaced the AutoCarImage letters on my Frontier with ones from Tufskinz over the weekend and they were much better quality.
