Once my Mav shows up, plan on having a SIBL done, leaning toward Line-X. My local shop offers (4) different flavors, I'll have a tonneau, so not really worried about fading.

Thoughts?

Thanks, HRG

What are your choices?

I had rhinoliner done by the dealer since the factory was constrained. It's just the standard black and I couldn't be happier. IIRC some brands offer UV protection, heavy duty, different colors, etc.. The plain old black has been great for me. I have light duty requirements.

It depends on what you need - if you plan on hauling gravel or rocks and stuff, get the heavy duty treatment. Otherwise if you have a tonneau there is no reason to get the UV treatment.

With a tonneau I would just get the classic. That's what I plan on doing.

I've had classic on 4 pickups and was pleased every time. My local dealer did caution me against the color coatings. Apparently he carried them as part of his franchise agreement, but said they tended to fade - corporate literature not withstanding.

I went with the UV. Not sure if I’m going to put a cover on as yet.

I went with the premium Line-X in my Maverick. I will have an A.R.E. MX-series shell put on as soon as A.R.E. begins manufacturing them. I went with the OTR on the shell. Yet, I am tempted to have A.R.E. paint it and have the Line-X folks put the coating on instead of A.R.E.

With a cover m I think the classic should be fine. I have that and a bed mat as well as a cover. I see the bed as a large trunk with occasional use as a truck bed. Everyone has different uses, needs and views of how they want their truck to function So whatever works for you.
