The Falken A/T Trails are hard to beat for your needs. Not a full A/T tire but for the hybrid should be great. I need more snow/ice road performance so planning on CrossClimate2's for next winter. But if I needed some offroad capability in the summer I'd go with the trails

Picked these up off someone upgrading his Bronco wheels, so plan on using these on my hybrid LX.

that's about 7 pounds more of rotational mass per corner which is equivalent to roughly 50 pounds each of static weight meaning that adding these would be the equivalent of hauling 200 pounds in the bed of your truck at all times, no small amount of weight at all. I'd recommend getting rid of the OEM Ford wheels (sell them) and buy yourself an aftermarket wheel that is about 20 pounds which should keep your hybrid at factory static weight despite the heavier AT tires. I honestly think you could sell the badlands wheels and purchase something much lighter with very little out of pocket costs. The money you'll save in fuel costs in the long term will far outweigh the little money you'll shell out to switch to a much lighter wheel.

When my no option hybrid XL was a week old I took it off pavement on a 100 mile trip and ended up with a rock puncture flat. The next day I traded the whole set of passenger tires for these Wild Peak truck tires - same size as stock. I love them. I have now driven them 3500 miles ... off road, through mud and snow, and over hundreds of miles of back-road highways. My over-all MPG is right now 37.4. I haven't noticed objectionable road noise . I plan to rotate every 5000 miles, as I am concerned about tread wear (not evident yet)
I plan on using my truck like a truck ; which means it needs truck tires. The inside of the bed is already scratched up ... hey, its a truck!

I'm looking at stock size ATs. They all come out around 30lbs. I think Wildpeak Trails or Toyo ATs are what I will go with. Stock Hybrid wheel and tire package is 49lbs. So if you had slightly light wheels say 20lbs, and 30lbs AT tires, could be close to stock rotating mass. Hopefully maintain good MPGs that way. I won't have my truck until early June (fingers crossed) so I have time to pick my poison.
Not with the Steelies. The steelies weigh over 27 lbs. Which with the standard tire puts the weight around 51/52 pounds.

Those are pretty light for an AT type tire, I'm guessing they were able to reduce materials due to the use of Aramid.......I'm a big fan of their tires
Even the Rotiivas that preceded them have aramid construction although only in the sidewall while the Outposts also incorporate it as a tread layer supposedly. Possibly they traded some cord density in the steel layers and with it load rating being standard load (102) rather than X-tra load (108).

How much do you think the stock steelies weigh? Just wondering if weight is another justification for getting rid of them.

I was told 27 pounds for the FX4 wheels which are just the badlands wheels in black.

Edit: as for the steelies, someone above said 27 pounds which I guess would make sense. I believe the XLT wheels are also 27 pounds

I truly appreciate your feedback. Thank you. Your right and not to take the thread on a tangent but I’m in a large city where after-market wheel are a theft target and factory wheels don’t standout. In my experience, factory wheels are better made, better balanced, more resilient to abuse, and less noticeable to thieves.

Interesting, I live in a major metro area and we have the complete opposite issue, they prefer to steal the OEM wheels because there's a bigger resale market for used OEM replacement parts.

Americas Tire has the Unique 83, which is a black steelie, at 31 lbs.

XLT wheel tire combo is 49lbs, Tirerack says stock tire is 24lbs. Do the math on that one. I want to land close to 49lbs with a AT tire.
