The reason your wife wanted a Lariat is the push button start. If you bought a vehicle without it, you might as well get standard shift! Todays women don't fiddle around looking for keys to drive. Almost all cars have push button start, and people love this feature. You will thank me later!
Again it is a matter of preference I had the push button start on my car that I sold to get my XLT Maverick loaded. Doesn't brother me to back to using a key again.I wanted a small truck at a fair price. The only thing for me that would have been nice would have been the power sliding window.I also upgraded my speakers in my XLT which made a big difference in the sound

No regrets yet. I like the extra tech and the looks better. And yeah, when you have adaptive cruise control on with lane centering, the truck just about drives itself!

What are your comparison vehicles?

The truly standout systems my husband and I have owned over the years have been, in no particular order - the (really stunning for the price) ELS 3D system in our Integra, a Mark Levinson system in a Lexus ES, a Lexicon system in a Genesis, and a harman/kardon system in a Volvo and in a Mercedes. Then we have had what we considered "fun" systems, such as the Bose system in our G37 and again in a Q50 years ago and harman/kardon in a Soul Turbo.

I often told my husband while waiting on the Maverick that I knew the B&O wasn't going to come anywhere close to the best systems we'd had in cars and all I wanted from it was for it to sound as good as the similarly spec'd 8-speaker 320W harman/kardon in my 2017 Soul. That was a $27k vehicle new. I felt this was a reasonable expectation.

Instead, the B&O is in a tie for last place among all our "premium" audio equipped cars right along side the Bose system in our 2018 Miata. But we overlooked the relatively poor performance of the Bose in the Miata because that car was so loud inside it was a miracle it sounded as well as it did (which was not great).

(yes, we have owned an absolute shit ton of cars in the past 20 years)
Hi I see you also owned a 2018 Mazda MX5.I also have been looking at MX5 for my summer car.Can you tell me how you liked the MX5.Thanks

If you are ordering a new vehicle, order it the way you want it. You will be paying shipping, dealer fees for registrarion, prep, etc. otherwise shop for a vehicle you can be happy with and save around 2K that you will never recover when you sell or trade in. I have a friend who would never buy new, he likes demos, off leased low mileage with an extended warrant. Don't care about color, options, just price so he can brag about the deal he got. Get what you want, don't settle!

I got a loaded Lariat with almost every option. I have had it for 4 months now and it is probably the best vehicle I have owned in 55 years of driving. I have the EB and have hit the 40mpg mark a couple times. With the cold weather the heated steering wheel and heated seats are great. I wish they had fog lights because they usually light up the side of the road for seeing deer at night. But the lighting system does a great job without them. No rear window defogger but I don't know how Ford did it, but the center section never fogs up. Got to try it last weekend with the first really big Michigan snow storm. It tracked very well on the snow covered roads and never broke loose even once. There are numerous people who complain about this or that on this truck. I have found nothing wrong. Great truck. For those of you still waiting.......... it is worth it.

I have found that I look around a lot more now because I don't have to worry about keeping the truck centered in the lane.

I constantly read on here that most think the maverick isn’t worth over $35k and it’s best suited as a lower level trim. I ordered a lariat as I listen to satellite radio 95% of the time and didn’t want to constantly have to use the SiriusXM app. I know the Lariat has the same materials for the most part as the XL, with basically just more tech added. Which I’ll agree the interior is cheap, it’s not fancy but it’s fine.

Anyway, I wanted to hear from those with Lariats. Are you happy with it? Looking back, would you have went with a cheaper trim level?

When we began to order our Mav, we selected all of the features my wife and I both wanted and decided that it made more sense to buy the Lariat. We have only had it for a month but we are both loving it. My wife drives a very nice Highlander, but she
Ford Maverick Lariat trim, worth it? GG and BO MAVERICK
e really enjoys driving her "Little truck". Our F-150 was nice, but it barely fit in our garage. The B&O system is very good and certainly adequate for the size of the vehicle. We bought the Lux package, the Co Pilot 360, and even the special Alto Blue color. It is FWD with the 2.0 EcoBoost. We do business with an excellent dealership here in Alabama. They add NO extra charges. Our Maverick stickered at just north of 33K and that is what we paid. They gave us a generous allowance for our 2020 F-150. We are a very happy senior couple. Loving life and each other, and being thankful to God every day for our happiness and contentment. Wishing that for all of my Blue Oval Brethren.

I love all the bells and whistles when I buy a vehicle. Spoiled by the heated seats and steering wheel, upgraded interior features, etc. Being able to get all the features I love at 35k is a blessing I can't refuse. But add in the CP360, B&O sound system, power rear window, tow package and remote start. I can go on and on. Keyless entry. Upgraded wheels. On a vehicle that is versatile and practical. It's the best of all worlds.

Well, I have a Maverick Lariat Lux 4k fx4 CP360 Alto Blue. I love all the extra features. I also have owned a 2007 Mazda MX 5 Touring. I have had the MX since 2014 and enjoy the heck out of it. So, I have an old school manual car and a fancy little PU and I love them both. Plus getting 30 plus miles (on both) per smile.

<< snip >> The 2023 Lariat are only available in AWD configuration. << snip >>
That is true for the Ecoboost models, but the 2023 Maverick is available in FWD with the Hybrid engine. I've got two on order. Maybe someday I'll even get one!

Get a Meross adapter and use Google/Siri Voice command, no need for a button. You also get notifications whenever the door is opened or closed or has been left open longer than a certain time.

I could not agree more! That Smart Garage Door Opener is so nice, and extremely easy to install! It comes with it's own app, but also integrates with Apple's HomeKit (Apple TV and iPhone/iPad) – or the Google/Alexa equivalents – so I can just say "Hey Siri, open the garage door" pretty much anywhere, and the door opens. The app also has a cool feature where you can program a set time for the garage door to be closed every night (or even opened every morning, if you choose). That way, even if you forget it was open, the Meross app closes it for you.

This week I was having some work done on the landscaping and sprinkler system. Eventually I needed to go to the store for a few minutes. Of course, just as I got to the store, I got a call from the team saying they needed access to the garage to mess with the controller, but since I wasn't home to give them access, they were going to have to knock off for the day. I said "Hold on a second," then said "Hey Siri, open the garage door," and within 2 seconds I could hear it opening. The team leads said "How did you do that?"

I also like being able to tell Siri to open the garage when I'm about a block away, and watch it opening as I come up the driveway. So nice!

Lariat Luxury is worth it to me. I put in tons of hours driving in the wind and adaptive cruise is a game changer.

However, if I could buy ACC on some lower-level trim I would consider it. You can get it in an Escape Active trim, which is 2nd lowest, but it's in Tech Pack 2 which in a single click turns on a bunch of options and you're at $33.5K MSRP right away. In a SUV with a 1.5L ecoboost FWD. That should put it in perspective that a Maverick hybrid with lariat lux starting at 34K is not really that bad.

Other brands may offer ACC type functionality for less, I don't know.

If I didn't have ACC then I would be fine going all the way down to XLT non-lux. I would miss the lariat drls, they're really sharp looking, and I'd hate losing the pushbutton starter. And I'd put in a complete stereo system, but that's fun and easy for me.
