Not 100% sure yet. I travel a lot for work, so my girlfriend kills the mileage weekly lol.

I think its slightly worse, but I'll know for sure after I can knock out a tank or two on my own and calculate my mileage.

I'll write back here once I have a better idea.

one thing that comes to mind is that these tires are pretty good so far, almost as good as the michelin defender. i did notice that they make a slight high pitch sound in the rain, but nothing too loud.

I (almost) always run Michelin tires, but on my last truck I didn't want to spend the money and decided to give these a try. They look like copies of the Defenders, except they are also 3-peak rated, as you know. I was very impressed with them - and I did use them in snow as well. Quiet and comfortable ride, plenty of traction, everything I expect out of Michelin tires! I believe I had well over 60k miles on them when I totaled the truck and they still had lots of life in them.
I sorry what brand are you referring to?

Update:
I finally ran 2 tanks where I did most of the driving and the fuel economy has been about 44 and 45 mpg (calculated.)

It did go down slightly compared to the OEM, but only by about 1-2 MPG.
IMO its well worth it for the look and smoother ride!

Edit:
After driving much more and checking fuelly, I think the real world mileage hit is more like 2-3 mpg.

Ordered these, install is scheduled Saturday. $118 per tire at Discount Tire. Excellent tire, fantastic value.

Thanks to hdave for the pictures and shared feedback.

I ended up finding some Bronco Sport Big Bend wheels, now I am considering 235/70/17.

In this size the Kumho Crugen HT51 are half the price of Michelin Defenders (my preferred tire.)

I am wondering if anyone has experience with these tires?
From initial reviews, I know they likely aren't as good, and they are louder, but I'm not sure its worth forking out double the price for defenders.
Part of the reason for the Michelin Tax is that defender 2s have been known to go up to 90K miles.

To your question, No. No experience with the Crugen.

I have been running the crugens for a while now and am super happy with them.
I'd argue they are much better value since they offer about 80% of the treadwear and performance, and cost about 50% of the price.
