I do not have a problem with dealers selling their stock above MSRP. It’s their stock. My problem is when you order a vehicle and the paperwork has one price and the dealer tries to charge you another price. According to FMC when you order a vehicle you get it at the MSRP.and price protected.

If you own a house, I suspect you wont hesitate to get the highest price if and when you go to sell it. No matter how high the price.
This Ford dealership is gouging. I'm not a Ford dealership.

All depends on the state you live in. for example My state has an agreement each dealer signs regarding glass ETCH. Each dealer has to provide an annual statement to DMV regarding offering service and price charged. If the dealer does it to all vehicles it sells buyer can still decline it and dealer must remove from invoice and buyer cannot be charged even if it has been completed. Look at the court case filings against Ford Motor Company and your dealership which are usually available for the last 10 years on your State website. You will see some very interesting cases. One that came to my attention was a small claims court ruling a dealer had to reimburse buyer for Additional Dealer Markup that was not included on original DORA and Marketing material from Ford and original quote by dealer but charged at time of pickup. Buyer was awarded reimbursement of ADM, sales tax and court costs, fees and postage. There were some interesting cases ones regarding warranties and service repairs not authorized
I'm confused as to what point you think you are making. You are talking about dealerships making up "mandatory fees", that is completely different than the Koon's Ford scenario.

I'm not sure how many different ways it has be stated: dealerships can charge whatever the heck they want, as long as they don't attempt to hide the ADM and/or lie about it.

I could care less what they charge, I found a dealer willing to honor X-plan pricing on an order but they're also selling their dealer stock units for $10k over and I don't blame them. I also run a side business and although I provide services, if I sold goods I would definitely raise my prices if I had less access to them. Most people who are salty didn't have the foresight to place an order and just expect dealers to not look out for their own best interest which is ridiculous. Guess what, if someone is willing to pay 10k over for a Maverick, how could you blame the dealer?? Do you think it's your RIGHT to be sold a Maverick at MSRP when someone is willing to pay more? The argument is pretty ridiculous
It's called gouging, and it's a bad business practice. You want to defend this practice, be my guest.

I don't think anybody is going to argue with you. But, as apparently has to be mentioned again, that scenario has nothing to do with what Koon Ford is doing.

Gouging relates to necessities. Since when is a Ford Maverick a necessity?? What a joke. You NEED a vehicle? Go out and buy any on the lot vehicle in your price range. You NEED a vehicle? You can get an Escape or Ecosport at MSRP. You don't NEED a Ford Maverick.

The Guy Fawkes mask has now become a common brand and a convenient placard to use in protest against tyranny – and I'm happy with people using it, it seems quite unique, an icon of popular culture being used this way. Anonymous groups needed an all-purpose image to hide their identity and FakeCowboy needs to hide his identity
I suspect real "members" of Anonymous would not be likely to use this as an avatar in a public setting. Fake Cowboys' first avatar sort of resembled an Alfred E. Newman figurine. Perhaps more suitable????

Sorry but Mr. Guido Fawkes obviously far predates Anonymous nor have I ever pretended to be associated with them. I think the Guy Fawkes mask could be a symbol for any kind of rebellion, even a personal rebellion against misinformed members of an internet forum. Yes, my original avatar was a funny play on my username but since dealing with so many snowflakes and some power tripping moderators here I changed it.

It's not "price gouging" when you sell your car or house for inflated pandemic prices, right? I'm sure you ask your employer only for a "fair" wage, not what the market will pay too, right? Businesses and consumers alike have choices; when anybody is forced to buy a maverick, only from that dealer, required to pay additional markup and/or fees and that end price is different from that advertised, come back to the conversation

No, gouging does not just refer to necessities. Nice try though. It's a bad business practice in general. Please keep the same open mindedness when prices on everything else go through the roof in coming months.

Can't wait for you to pull more "wisdom" out of your butt.

Yeah, it does in a legal sense. Try going to your congressman complaining that Ford dealers are "gouging" on Mavericks and note the funny look they give you right before they walk away from you.

Also, I'm fully prepared for whatever uncertainty comes. I have a great career with a ton of job security as well as a side business that brings in a nice amount of money. I live below my means and also, I don't vote for idiots to be my elected officials. Bring the economic uncertainty on!

Hmm, you better explain this to Ford and other car manufacturers, they seem to see it as a bad practice.

Perhaps instead of rebelling against uninformed members of this forum, you could provide them information in a civil manner so that they may become more informed. I have noted yours posts contain good information. It is often lost on the reader because of what appears to us uninformed members to be a bit of an "attitude" problem. I am offering this as constructive criticism so try to take it in that manner, not in one of rebellion.

That's the beauty of capitalism: overcharging IS A BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE. Eventually people stop buying from the business that is charging more than others and they change or go out of business. There is nothing that you or I have to do, other than not buy from them. It's bananas that you are literally stating this yet the concept totally alludes you. There is nothing immoral about charging more, but it may end up costing you business.
