I know! It has to do with the BMS design, software, and it's interaction with the dcdc converter and it's varying voltage, I suspect. I Would like to see a recorded monitor history of the BMS actions along with the DCDC converter output. I took possession of my FE Hybrid 3/9/22 and have had no issues but at "the works" oil change yesterday The CCA battery spec of 470 was only 411 and the state of health check mark started near 55% and exited near 60% (whatever that means, maybe warranty replacement when drops below 50% or 400 CCA???). I think I am close to sleep time.
exactly!
My battery checks at about 60% charge too.
I found this out when I had an overnight drain problem. It was the dealer's alarm.
I don't know how my battery tests good by the dealer because it died about 6 times overnight.
But, anyway, it's working good since the alarm was disconnected.

Thanks, everyone! Between this thread and Kicker tech support (incredibly quick email support btw) a fix was found.
I connected the remote wire to fuse 6 using a fuse tap and it works perfectly!
Im having this same issue with the amp/speaker going to protect mode (red light). Are you saying just connecting a remote wire solved this and you didn’t need to do anything else?

I am installing a underseat subwoofer as well now. the subwoofer goes into protection mode usually around 15 on the volume meter. have redone the ground and power connections. anyone have any ideas? lmk if you get yours to work!

Connecting a remote wire from the passenger fuse box solved it for me.

i have a remote wire soldered into the head unit. Did you have a remote wire somewhere else before you got it to work? Thanks so much

soldered to what exactly?

a fuse tap in fuse 6 or fuse 3 works. 3 takes a special kind that comes out high, not just a short 90 degree elbow, otherwise it's not going to clear either fuses next to it.

I soldered it into one of the speaker wires. Figured it would work since all it needs is a voltage when radio is on, although im a beginner with audio so if it makes sense why that wouldn’t work I wouldn’t be surprised. FYI the sub works great under around 15 volume then it goes into protection. I will try remote wire to fuse 6 tommorrow. Thanks!

uh yeah. that wasn't a good plan, the speaker input can be used automatically to power on and off, but if you have a remote wire it needs to be into an ignition switched fused.

I hope that's your issue but if you still have trouble after the change let everyone know.

I never tried the head unit. I went straight to the fuse box. Also if you used speaker wire inputs ensure that you try toggling the high/low input voltage. It may actually be a low input voltage depending on where you tapped.

I would question the hybrids 12 volt battery.
From others and mine they seem to run low like even under 12 volts. Don't ask me why.
You can easily test this with a volt meter with your bass cranked up.
Ask @GPSMan about it too. I'm curious what he thinks.
If you suspect the ground, you could run it right to the battery too but the shortest possible cable is the best.

100% it won't be a long run to make a difference. Straight to battery
