I just purchased the external keypad from Ford (used points). I know I will not be able to unlock the door from the outside door handle, but will I be able to lock the doors from the outside door handle.

I know it doesn't matter as far as the keypad. The sensors in your keyless entry handle providing lock/unlock are not changed by the addition of a keypad.
But now you won't require the fob to be on you to use the handle - you'll use the keypad.

Does the OP have keyless entry?
Now (without the keypad), if I leave my fob in the armrest storage I cannot unlock the door. When I install the keypad I do not want to punch numbers in to lock the door, I know I will need to punch numbers in to unlock. Exactly. Thank you.Ok - so you mean specifically when you leave the fob in the cabin - not normal usage.
You never said that until now.
The fob is seen in the cabin - the door sensors will not work.
You will have to use the keypad.
Fob on you - proceed as normal.
As you can tell from the multiple confused responses - the full scope of the question wasn't understood.
True! But you cannot lock the truck with the handle if the FOB is inside the vehicle!Sticking the keypad on has little to no effect on the censor.
