Yes.

Newer / fancier vehicles have canbus (and now there is a next generation communication protocol) running all over the place. While you and I have a dedicated spot to tap into it under the dash by the driver's left knee, skilled persons can tap into it anywhere. Some have gone behind the headlamps!

The solution can be a hidden physical kill switch you use when parked, a physical club on the steering wheel, or a mechanical lock.

The guy with lock picking skills won't have a fancy computer jammer, and the guy with computer jammer won't have lock picking skills.

I was going to mention a physical kill switch. I remember back in the 80's that was a big thing with the muscle car owners. That and battery disconnect knobs.

Those might work as an ANTENNA rather than as a faraday cage, increasing the effective range rather than limiting it - so do test whatever solution you come up with.

Yes I've been doing some reading since then, they say if you use any type of metal box, to make sure the keys are isolated from touching the metal. I just got home from a Eastern Sierras to Death Valley camping trip and I'm going to try it out now.
