As the title says, i installed the cab spoiler today. my wife works at the local ford dealer (also the reason i was able to get the maverick haha) and was able to get a great price on it. it was a super easy install and it’s a small change that makes a huge difference! i’m hopefully going to order the liftgate spoiler on monday. on a different note, i love my maverick!!!

Okay, I’ll bite what is the REAL difference ? Higher mpg? Faster thru the corners on track? Or keeps rain and dirt off of the rear window? I hope it’s the latter, plus it looks cool.

Is there any functionality benefit to it or only cosmetic?

Mine seems to keep the rear window dust free. I drive 2 miles of gravel road a week.

Plus it doubled my MPG. 🤥 I wish .
I'll have to pass then. I want a spoiler that triples MPG.

Did it lower your mpg?
Did it increase mpg at all? 1-2?

At least you let us know that it keeps your rear window cleaner, that’s more information than anybody has given us yet. Bravo.

Does anyone who buys these things compare before and after mpg or do they not care? Even hybrid owners, who evidently were interested in higher mpgs, stick these on without a thought to any negative, or positive, fuel consumption effects.

I have been interested in these for a while but can’t find anyone who has bothered to report any significant mpg gains or losses with them installed.

Tailgate spoilers like the Ford/Airdesign are a no brainer. All manufacturers of larger trucks include them in the sheet metal design of the tailgates now. Don’t believe me? Go look at them.
They work, they’re not just for show.

Ford didn’t put the longer spoiler on the Maverick because it is a budget truck that already gets good enough mpg without it, the stock little lip spoiler works good enough.

But, the big trucks sporting tailgate spoilers are not putting on, or offering, cab spoilers which makes me wonder if they really do anything positive or not.

I don’t mind boy racer add ons if they are functional. But if they’re not then why not go all the way and get a hood scoop too?

I just wish we could get some aerodynamic details, like mpg changes, from the next few buyers of these instead of letting us know how cool they look.

BTW, I did install the tailgate spoiler and reported my mpg results in a thread here. They were impressive.

Rant off.

My Maverick had the rear cab spoiler installed by the dealer. So I can't provide that info for you. Sorry
